Ever since I heard that quote from Kobe, I've never really been able to hate him.  Plus he speaks Italian.

i disagree with kobe being better than lebron.  Right now lebron is the better overall player, the stats prove it and the mvp award last year does, and he will win it again this year.

kobe is more experienced and a better shooter and has had a better career, i believe the torch has been passed. lebron is physically unmatchable.

unstoppable, Except by any defensive minded team in the playoffs that can turn him into a jump shooter, which he is below average at.

The Spurs, Celtics, Magic, and Celtics again have shown this in consecutive playoffs. Turn him into a jump shooter and he'll fall.

I'll grant you with his gifts it takes a great team to make him a jumpshooter, but to me, Kobe's better because he;s not as one dimensional.

He throws tantrums better than the 5 year olds I know. No easy feat at his age.

Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

That gif is incredible TB.

Can't believe he reacted so poorly to that.

I heard the reporter ask Kobe how confident he was in winning two games in a row at home, his response was "I'm not", he looked like he's giving up.

After Duncan and Shaq, he's the third best player in the NBA since Michael Jordan retired. And that's no easy feat. LeBron James has a chance to "one up" him, but until he wins a title, you put him under Kobe.

The best player in the game is between Wade and Bryant IMO.

Wait a minute! Where is Rondo in that mix?

He smiled at that. He was being sarcastic.

Seriously, the nicest thing I have to say about Kobe is based in this quote from him when he was playing for team USA:

Well, you know it's just our country, it's... we believe is the greatest country in the world. It has given us so many great opportunities, and it's just a sense of pride that you have; that you say "You know what? Our country is the best!

Kobe is such a competitor, no way he'd play for some second best country.   ::)

His freakish focus on winning (or is the focus on just looking like a winner?) has helped make him an unbelievable player, but I'm not sure I'd want to be his sidekick.

I'll also give him props for being direct in his interviews.  He may be peevish, but he's not trying to pull some Jedi Jackson mind tricks.  He'll let you know what he thinks even if it isn't necessarily polite or sportsmanlike.

He's very generous when it comes to things like giving autographs to young fans or giving money to rape victims so they won't testify against him.

This is how you do an off-color joke.

Well played, sir.

Well played.

I saw that.  He was being sarcastic.

Yeah ... he was being VERY sarcastic, and not remotely serious, that's why he and the press all laughed afterward.

Do you guys really think he is confident?

He didn't look confident at all...  I really don't think it was that sarcastic.  I think they laughed because they didn't expect him to be so blunt.

Pierce was nicer,why?...because he didn't get caught up into a one on one shootout with Kobe, and stayed within the flow of the C's offense...and as far as Kobe's being confident i think he is confident in his own game going forward and maybe Pau to a degree but the rest of his team is suspect. He's probably feeling its 2008 happening all over again,as the series goes deeper his team mates game shrinks and the Celtics gets better.
