On this board, what I'd noticed was the fear of the return of Antoine Walker.

Yes, we all know about the towel waving mascot thing but the reality of the situation is that it's all fear.

Our team is good, in fact, it's excellent. Antoine Walker will not get us to stop playing defense and at the same time, will not interfere in the growth of Powe and BBD.

What he'll do, however, is give us that additional spark plug, that last spark of flame which'll give our bench some added mojo during the mid-day/after lunch slump. Yes, we have a bit of a siesta problem during Q2-Q3, when after the starters are taking a breather and the pasta is being digested. That's where the wiggle and dance can get the ball rolling. As point forward, 'Toine will keep team's guessing as to what's going on in his mind. The truth is that a lot of his chuckers will be the best defensive effort that the opposition can play in clogging passing lanes. But at the same time, the opposition will periodically cave-in, and Antoine will bullet that pass out to House for a 3 pointer, or Powe for the jam.

I say, let's bring him back, for the back-to-back!

Ok Scrooge.  He's still got ball left in him.  I know all the know-it-alls have already written him off, but don't forget he was integral to a Miami title not too long ago.

I'm not saying he will or has to have the same type of role, but he's certainly better than 7 or 8-15 on our roster, no question.
God bless and good night!

I can see all the naysayers stating that LeBron will smoke Walker every time he's down the court.

But then I remembered an old saying by Danny Ainge, concerning Andrew Toney (a.k.a. The Boston Strangler/Mr Lights Out himself)? He'd said that the best way to stop Toney was to not challenge him but to let him get bored of making his own shot.

Same here, as long as Walker mans the passing lanes, and not directly challenge Lebron's shots, then eventually, James will start missing them and will try to get his teammates involved. That's true psychological warfare because a direct one-on-one 'D' will get LeBron agitated and he'll shot lights out over Antoine.

I personally love Antoine and would enjoy seeing him back on the team, even if he didn't play. I want him back on the team so that he has a chance to win a championship with the team he bled for. I feel like Starbury would also help us.
However, we currently have the maximum amount of players on our team. Do we trade someone like Houston just did for a second round pick? Do we outright cut someone? I say neither of those are good options and we should stick with who we have.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

A good, but old article.

Sums it up pretty balanced, but positive more than negative, which is exactly what Toine brought to the Celtic franchise.

Will Walker being just a bench player and being had on the cheap(Vet Min) be enough for teams to take a flyer on him?   Film at eleven....  ;D

For all you guys that think that Antoine still has some Celtic magic left in him and that Danny Ainge will become bedazzled by it and bring him in, there's a couple of realities you need to know.

There's no Tooth Fairy!!

There's no Easter Bunny!!!

There's no Santa Claus!!!!

And Antoine's time in Boston is long gone and over!!!!!

The sooner you come to except these simple realities, the easier life gets for you guys. It really is that simple! The easiest way to come to this acceptance is to sit alone in a dark room, relax all your muscles, close your eyes and constantly repeat in a guttural moan.

"Antoine's time is gone, he's not coming back."
"Antoine's time is gone, he's not coming back."
"Antoine's time is gone, he's not coming back."

Usually after a couple of weeks of doing this two to three hours a day and some major psychotherapy, Antoine addiction can be cured and you'll thankfully never start or think about starting another "Bring back Antoine" thread ever again.

Antoine Walker was the single reason the Heat won the Title.  Look how good he has been in Minnesota and Memphis.  Keep Walker away from this team unless we keep him on the bench as a cheerleader.

maybe he didnt get all the presents he was hoping for and became dissillusioned....much as the "bring toine back" crowd would be if toine ever did come back.

and so far, santa brought me what i wanted... a toine-less celtic team.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
