Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this whole thing.
Im not saying Boozer isnt a selfish or me-first guy, but I think many of us had him pegged as that before this came out due to the situation in Cleveland.
What bothers me, and I dont mean to sort of switch subjects here, is Boozer can say something like this in media and just about everyone trashes him (which he argueably deserves) because they already think the guy is a d**k.
However, a player like Gilbert Arenas, did this to his team over the course of two seasons. I feel like most of the basketball world turned and looked the other way at what Gilbert was doing in Washington because hes a more loveable character than Boozer. Gilbert told the Wizards for over two seasons that he was going to opt out of his contract and test free agent waters, honestly, the only problem I see with that is that he went public with it, and made it a distraction. However, what I really hate about what Gilbert did, was the man barely played at all for the next season and a half, he had two knee surgeries (now three), and still decided to opt out and say Pay Me Max money or else. If Jamison leaves, I leave. He put his team in an awful position, they didnt know if he was gonna be able to come back from his knee operations and be the same player, and this was on top of the fact that they were gonna have to pay Jamison as well.
The only mistake I see with what Boozer is doing is hes going public with it. If he doesnt go public with it, hes almost doing the Jazz a favor, hes making the decision for them, and giving them a chance to get something for him.
Im not saying Boozer is a good guy, but it just amazes me sometimes how guys automatically have a target on their backs in some cases and other guys can do the same things and get a free pass.
