Why don't they just make it the Lakers channel. It disgusts me how many Faker fans there are nation wide. Does this bother anyone else? I think the Celtics are more hated than ever after beating the Lakers in the finals. We're on our own in Celtics Nation. This isn't a new realization to me but I just felt the need to bring up the fact of how lopsided the fan voting is for Fan Night games.

Sports fans have always hated Boston, though it has been getting worse throughout this decade as we've been winning at everything (Come on Bruins! Gotta complete the quadfecta.). And there are plenty of Celtics fans spread throughout this country (and abroad), just like Red Sox Nation.

I am sure it has something to do with it being the middle of football season and there not being a football team in LA.  Living in SoCal myself, I can attest to the 24/7 Lakers coverage, talk radio is pretty much exclusively Laker talk (which btw, is hilarious - their expectations are out of control!!).  It seems that there are a lot more casual NBA fans here than on the East Coast.

  • Let's Go Celtics
It's plain geography and numbers I think.  LA's market is bigger than Boston's.

I think so far every Fan Night has been either the Celtics, Lakers, or Cavs.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

i like if there were some variety.  im tired of the lakers and cavs on every game.  hell, id take okc vs sacramento once in a while to see teams we dont see often.  oh well, it isnt the network or the nba's issue.  they came up with a really cool concept and left it up to the fans.  so the fans have the power to change things.

now, if you want to talk about payton and webber together in studio during these games.......i would say they are HORRIBLE, especially together.  i watch nbatv everyday of the week, but tuesdays get less of my time due to those two.

I agree with you.  In the beginning of the season, we had League Pass for a few days and it was really cool seeing Minnesota playing, and Memphis and all these teams that are never on TV unless they're playing the Celtics.  I am sick of watching some variation of the same teams (Portland, Dallas, Lakers, New Orleans, Phoenix, San Antonio or Lakers).

I hope we get the Boston/Philly game next week.

That said it can be nice to see different teams (we get a mix in Canada but mainly the usual suspects).

i wish someone would have the guts to come right out and ask payton why he dislikes the celtics. better than that, someone needs to hammer barkley the same way. remember barkley pining for all the pistons to make the all star team, kissing poppovich's arse.how about blasting ainge for being an idiot on more than one occasion. i would looooove barkley and payton as color guys during a celtics final. can you imagine?

Not that it's important, but I distinctly recall Barkley saying last week that the Celtics were "hands down" the best team in the NBA.  So I don't think he has a great deal of animosity to Boston.

barkely doesn't mind the celtics (he's a big KG and ray allen fan) he hates pierce.

Barkley doesn't mind the C's winning, he can still not mention paul being any part of it, like he always does.

Its called Superfecta!

If the B's can win the Cup in 2009, then Boston becomes the 1st city to complete the Superfecta Championship in One Decade. New York has two or three teams competing in the 4 Majors so it is little wonder that they have so many championships but not all in one decade.

I get league pass so I don't care what is on league MVP. But my cable company blacks out the Denver games due to contractual restrictions.

No vote for next week because its LeBron day. 24 hours dedicated to a player who's never won a title.  ::)
