Good reminder why anyone who says Mo Cheeks is a bad guy needs to catch a punch.  Talk about throwing someone a life line.  I can imagine blanking on the words in a venue so huge, especially being that young.

Cheeks had lost that team. Still I think the team's issues are more the personnel, as it always is, than the coach. They need a player like Eddie house in the worst way.

Out of all of the firings this season, Cheeks may be the most deserving.  Some of those teams have no chance to win, regardless of who is the coach.  The Sixers actually have the talent to win some games.

Does anyone really think they're going to finish the season with that interim coach?  They are an older team, and cannot afford to simply give away a season at this point.  I think they're going to go hard after a well known, winning coach.  Doug Collins?  The Czar?  Van Gundy?

I didn't think about it at first, that that's completely true.  The same problem that really limited the team last year is limiting them this year.  And it's pretty hard for anyone to just create a shot in one summer, no matter who coaches them.

Installing an offense that can create the spacing without having reliable outside shooters it's difficult and it takes time. In fact, I think they were already getting better until Brand went down with the injury. I don't care a lot about Cheeks, he's not a very good coach and Stefansky had a good case to fire him at the middle of last season. But this year he deserved more time.

Yeah, but Brand was playing through injury during most of that stretch. More than lack of energy, I think they were affected by not having solutions to deal with the defenses they were facing.

I agree Cheeks didn't do a good work in Philly, but once they kept him for this season, they should have given him more time to solve their offensive woes, their defense and rebounding are solid.

Im not sure which is the problem at this point, the coach or the players.All i know is Brand has never showed me as much as the hype about him was from day one,in LA or Philly so far.Iguodala hasn't played consistent ball this season so far either.A few analysts made the statement about him playing hard last season because it was a cntract year,after that he didn't seem to care as much.I just haven't seen a consistent hard working ball team night after night.I only see them here and there,but i see a lot of highlights,and i have been surprised about their effort this season.On the otherhand,some of the efforts on a team comes from whether they are motivated by coach's philosphies and things going on in the organizations.They just haven't look inspired as a team so far.

Despite what you'll hear from the usual suspects (e.g. I'm sure Doc will say what a shame it is that Cheeks got canned next time C's play the 76ers) Cheeks has been and remained a bad coach.

In my mind, Philly was a 1/2 season wonder last year that got as far as shocking Detriot in the playoff opener.

Honestly, is this team capable of making the EC playoffs? Well any team could, even the lowly Charlotte Bobcats in this crazy conference.
