KG has honestly made Perkins the beast he is today.

Even though oden is in his first year he outplayed him when he was on the court, he handled pryzbilla good too

I can't really remember this year where another center dominated him yet

He has changed alot even from last year where he seems to pick up 3 quick fouls early.

He is moving his feet, just raising his arms and going after smart blocks.

His offense has been more than decent also.

He is a mean hard working sob

I think they help each other and after a year of playing together they can anticipate what the other will do, especially on the defensive end.

Perk is a great compliment to KG on D (basically covering the other guy KG doesn't want to cover and letting KG be KG) and KG's all around offense makes up for Perk's limited game.

I'd like to see Perk do the following to improve his offense:

1. Improve his short range J and foul shooting
2. Learn how to dunk / putback a rebound without bringing the ball to his knees
3. Learn to pass out and get the ball back when his offense isn't there (instead of forcing the jump hook everytime)
4. Get better on getting Rondo the ball on Defensive rebounds (his intent to go long with the ball is good, but his instincts on when to quick pass to Rondo versus throw it long are not, plus he seems to pass to Ray Allen over Rondo without reason a lot.)

If he continues to better understand the risk/reward balance with his using his fouls, his defense can go from very good to great.

Even with Al Jefferson on this team - I'd start Perk - he's literally the perfect Center to play with KG.

This is really one of the reasons why the C's defense is so good.  The defensive chemistry they have, especially with Perk and Garnett (Davis has actually been showing similar chemistry with Garnett this year) has been tremendous.  When one of them moves, the other guys moves right with them, and they are like a wall.  Garnett goes to trap, and Perk is already right there, on his man, before the pass can come.  Perk starts shadowing the ballhandler, and Garnett is shadowing right behind them.  I really have never seen a pair of bigs that work as well together and execute as flawlessly defensively.

a double double for perk in the 1st half, and he showed a few more moves that i didn't know he had. Could have had 20 rebounds if he didn't have to sit due to a few questionable calls. once again perk give us something to talk about.

yes
extremelly solid first half
and what i like better was when hi challenge okur on offense and
score a pretty sweet tur around close jumper to open the lead to 6 (if i am not wrong)
hes looking for his offense too
and not scare anymore
show great hands catching a floor pass from rondo that ends in a strong foul

Still have to work on those FTs

But hey like most of us I LOVE THE PERKULES!!!
Once a CrotorNat always a CROTORNAT  2 times CB draft Champion 2009-2012

Glad he's appreciated. Two years ago I thought he was maybe the worst starting center in the NBA, based on skills, not work ethic. He's always hustled and worked hard.
So, I guess I was wrong, and he has worked hard and improved tremendously. Also, finally getting a little respect from the refs has kept him out of some of the foul trouble of the past. That(the abusing of young players by the refs) seems to be an accepted fact, but it still sucks.
Anyway, good for Perk, I mean "Perkules". God, I hope that nickname doesn't stick, but it does have a nice ring to it.

He appeared to be a weak link going into last year but has become one of the better starting centers in the league.  I feel that he is overlooked.  He has improved so much since last year.  He's in the 2nd tier of centers now along with Tyson Chandler, etc.  What a pleasant surprise his development has been.

on my way home from the longhorn steak house i heard someone on WEEI talking about perks development. He talked about how when perk first came in the league he felt that he would never be able to have enough moves to score besides easy put backs. he did everything up to appologizing tonight, he praised perk on his weight loss, his improvement in rebounding, outlet passes, and esspecially his growth as a scorer. seems like everyone is catching on about how much of a steal KP43 is for us.

I don't think Perk is ever going to be a 2nd option and 3rd option is pushing it, but lets review:

1. has shown he is a tough guard in the post
2. shown he can hit a set 15 foot jumper
3. shown good footwork around the bucket
4. shown a little baseline turn-around shot
5. shown a bank shot

I don't think its unreasonable to believe that Perkins could score 12-15 ppg depending on the makeup of the team.

With Rondo around, Perk is always going to pick up 4-6 cheap point. If he is utilized more in the offense and starts having plays designed for his pick-and-pop shot, its not too difficult to see him getting to the line 5-7 times a game and making 3-4 shots on top of the easy baskets he already gets.

I agree with most of what you said except #2. He hit the 15 ft jumper in a single game. He has not hit it since.

he hasn't had to take it, doc saw the way that they were pulling off of him. I'm sure that if defenses sag off of him that much doc will give him the green light. plus we don't need him hitting it anyways, eventually that show will be in his arsenal, and hell if perk can make the defense respect him way out there... think of what kg can do to his defender mano a mano.

TP for the nice pic.  Perk has the precision and concentration of a skilled surgeon in that picture.  LeBron doesn't know what happened!

Agree with most of the sentiment above -- Perk has matured very well over the last couple of years; it is a real pleasure to see.
Celtics fan for life.
