I would like to create a thread for us to give perk his praise. I looked back a couple pages to see if one existed and didn't find one. So.... here it is.

It seems like Perk is doing a much better job of staying in the game and getting decent minutes, thus being more effective and piling up the stats, ESPECIALLY REBOUNDS! He's also showing a more impressive arsenal of offensive moves. So keep it up Perk.

KG has honestly made Perkins the beast he is today.

Even though oden is in his first year he outplayed him when he was on the court, he handled pryzbilla good too

I can't really remember this year where another center dominated him yet

He has changed alot even from last year where he seems to pick up 3 quick fouls early.

He is moving his feet, just raising his arms and going after smart blocks.

His offense has been more than decent also.

He is a mean hard working sob

Perk is very quietly putting together a solid season.  Rajon's getting a lot of the headlines.  Ray's impressive start are getting some more.  KG and Paul will always grab the spotlight.

When you get through all of that there's Perk, being physical, grabbing boards, playing defense, and improving offensively seemingly every game.  Good for the big guy.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I have been a big Perk fan ever since his first season when I saw what kind of work ethic he had and what a coachable kid he was.  I have said that Perk was going to be one of the top centers in the league since his first season and now he is finally proving me right.  I love Perk and remember how young he is... He is still going to continue to get better.  His work ethic is too strong not to.

TP for the Perk thread.

I was a tough critic of Perk last season, he was wildly inconsistent. As the season went on he improved bit by bit though, and during the playoffs he really turned the corner. He's playing even better this season. His defense is better, and most importanly his offensive moves when he catches the ball. He rarely is putting the ball on the floor like he used to. When he does it's usually to get himself in better position, instead of doing it for the sake of doing it like he used to. Also, he's no longer bringing the ball down in order to go up... he's consistantly catching the ball and going up quickly putting the ball against the glass. That's his biggest improvement and the thing I'm liking about him the most at the moment. No longer is he wasting good opportunities left and right like he did last season.

He's also shooting free-throws well, so he isn't a liability finishing up games.

Kendrick's passing, both off defensive rebounds and from the low block on offense, is simply astounding. I don't think he gets enough credit for this. I'm tempted to say that right now that is the best part of his game.

i always thought Perk was a solid Center when he was on the floor, and until this year his time on the floor was limited by fouls and occasional bonehead decisions.  His decision making has improved, his foot work has improved and his court time has increased.

i have long been a fan of Perk's outlet passing.  his pass last night to Rondo(?) was fantastic.

he is rebounding like beast and playing with a tremendous amount of confidence.  maybe its being a champion and not a C on a 24 win team, maybe it's KG's influence.  regardless it is GREAT to watch him mature and step his game up.

Dont look now but Perk is averaging a double double in the last 5 games, as has Rondo.
If we do things right, these kids just might keep us in the hunt till after KG Pierce and Allen are gone.
That will increase our window to win rings.
Go Perk.

Those two have played great. If Perkins and Rondo continues to play the way they're playing. We'll be hard to beat.

When Al Jeff was still here, I always felt Perk was the best on the team at passing the ball to Al in the post, especially lobs when Al was inside his defender.

Every time I listen to interviews with Perk, I am impressed with his intelligence. His accent makes him seem dim, but the content is great. I think that translates into the good passing and the intelligent defense we see.

Me neither best starting 5. No doubt.  They were last year as well but, they are even better this year with the steep inclines of both Perk and Rondo.

Yup. We definitely have the best starting five in the league. Only other team that comes close are the Lakers.

1. Boston

2. Lakers

3. Everybody else.

I am honestly happy if Perk can defend opposing centers (see him on howard!), muddle up the lane and get some rebounds.  Double/doubles is a HUGE bonus, I've always felt he should aver. more rebounds but I think the bone head fouls have hurt him.  The best part is he is still a kid really; we traded Al who I loved but look what we got.  Our project big, Perk at the time didn't have much value at all, look at the improvements!  And he still hasn't added a true hook shot and needs more work on his footwork.
