Should we go for Stephon Marbury?

Correct me if I am wrong but when reading the article I thought he was talking more about the quality of player that his new team would be getting. They would be shocked at how good he will be on the floor and how good he will be behind the scenes. Not the boatrocker he is being labeled as.

The New York Daily News had his whole quote in their paper and it reads a bit differently, more like in a context concerning the type of player he will be not the team he is going to:

"All I've got to do is get free," Marbury said. "Once I get free, the team I'm going to go to, I think a lot of people will be shocked. All the people that say nobody wants me on their team... I'm all of these different things...Frank Isola said I'm a cancer ... I'm doing my thing though."

That's a fair interpretation too, I guess. But when he says "All the people that say nobody wants me on their team" for reasons X, Y, and Z, I see him finishing it by saying "well, Boston still wants me." To me, that's the only response that seems really "shocking" to me.

"San Antonio wants me" would probably be even more shocking. I think both interpretations are valid, but I think he meant to say people will be shocked by the the team he's going to join - whether because of the quality, like the Celtics/Spurs/Lakers/etc.; or because of the role he'll have there - Miami, etc.

I dont think our backup PG is a real need. Eddie House does okay there. What we need is a backup 3 and 5.
