was Matt Cassell coming crashing back to earth.

So far, some horrible throws, balls that should have been intercepted, and too many fumbles...

hopefully this is just the rain and a good d and not a complete regression.

If the Pats lose today, playoff chances become pretty slim

The Steelers just took a big bite out of the Pats hopes this season. Cassel hasn't shown much against the tough D of the Steelers. If he can't handle it now I'm sure he can't do it in the playoffs.

Theres still 11 minutes to go in the 4th...maybe Cassel can find some of the magic Brady came up with when he was young, and pull off a comeback against a contender.

Considering the Jets are about to lose, and the Fins and the Pats will both be a game behind the Jets, All three of them have a chance for the division. All three also have relatively easy schedules the rest of the way.

Sucks to lose, but it will be interesting to see the sports pundits dissect this.  According to them, there was a whisper of debate about whether Cassel would replace Brady.  Of course on Monday they will all unload on Cassel.  It's now two seasons in a row that the Pats have given the national sports media stories to run with...
Celtics fan for life.

The national media needs no help in finding stories to run with. You would think that there were other stories to cover, newer teams to hate.

Besides, of course, anything Favrian.

I was at the game and had just a miserable time. The weather was horrible, the game was even worse. Cassel looked bad, but he didn't have much help. There were a lot of drops by the receivers, there was the missed fg by Gostowski, and the fumble on the kickoff by Slater. The Patriots' only hope now is going to be the division race, and I still think they have an okay chance.

Eddie House - for THREEEEEEE!

By the time Cassel started looking really bad the Pats had already dropped a bunch of very catchable passes in key situations. But yeh, he sucked along with everyone else - except for Kevin Faulk - he's my Pats MVP for the season.
Yup

I don't understand the Cassel debate. He's OK. His success has been tied to the offensive line this year. Games they show up to, he plays pretty well. Lousy teams expecting a savior will be disappointing, but a team that could protect him (like Minnesota) might be happy with what they get next year.

We're not going anywhere this year, just keep your eye on Brady's progress.
