  • The good ole days.
2.) The colors - let's face it, unless you play football and are big enough to be nicknamed a "People Eater", purple should just never be worn if you're a guy. It's just a tad to feminine for me.

Amen, brother!!

Put this one on the Garden crowd, but I hated the Lakers the very most when I heard MVP chants for Kobe IN BOSTON. That made me sick to my stomach. Also, whoever mentioned their current brand of Euroball is getting a TP from me. I hate that stuff.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

I'll always remember in 2002 the NBC coverage has a camera behind 5-6 Laker's "fans" enjoying the game in their luxury box.  They were eating what I imagine were $80 dollars and three of them were not even facing the game.

Not to mention the arena has no energy because they've priced out any real fans and it's empty half way through the third quarter.  So much worse than Fenway ever could get.

Is there a way that the Yankees, the Colts and the Lakers could all be moved to the same city?  And send the Miami Heat there too.  And Clay Aiken.

From NBA.com, this statement was getting me sick to my stomach so I needed to post it here.

Yup, they're close.  So are the C's.

Let's hope they both stay healthy and keep improving so we can have another great Finals.  Win or, dare I speak it, lose  :o, an NBA Finals rematch between these two would be freakin unbelievable.  It would be so much better than even last year.  Last year was almost a pleasant surprise.  A nostalgic trip back into an old rivalry.  Another matchup this year would truly be the rebirth of the rivalry.  See if we can kick the Lakers butts when they're at their best like when Russell was playing.  For all of the hubbub of the rivalry in the 80's, I felt like in the `84 series we upset them to some degree.  In `85 they whipped us.  In `86 they chickened out when we were peaking, and in `87 they were better and we were spent.  It was the only period of this long rivalry where the Lakers had some success against the Celtics.

I want to beat them when they're at their best.  Repeatedly!

Quell the Laker Lovin' Losers who keep crying "Meow, meow, meow but we didn't have Bynum. :'( :'(."

Let em win 70!

Is it Christmas Day yet?

Another reason I hate the Lakers, even though they play the boys in Green on Christmas Day it would really make may holiday if I never saw the Lakers on Christmas ever. I love Christmas and something about having to even hear the words "Lakers", "Kobe", "Zen master", or having to even see the colors purple and gold mixed together on clothing makes me very Scroogey.

What kind of fans debate whether a game is the biggest Christmas Day game ever?

Finals baby, Finals.

that thread
LOL. A little down the list of responses has someone asking if it's true that the game is sold out?!?!?!?!

The fact that that question even needs to be asked tells me all I need to know about Laker fans and their devotion to their team. The Celtics-Lakers game in Boston was probably sold out within 30 seconds of tickets going on sale.

The question in Boston wouldn't be "is it true the game is sold out" it would be"is it true their scalping tickets now for the game at $1000 a piece". Los Angeles sports fans suck. Show up late, leave early, no long consecutive sellout streaks even though they have had a dynasty, well kinda for the better part of the last 9 years.

Another reason I hate the Lakers, fans that have no idea what a good thing is and how to appreciate it.
