i don't know what the rules are  but i bet kg was  embarassed at being caught on camera doin' that. he's the frickin' man but i'm sure he would even call that a real sissy move. if i slapped someone like that in a game and they suspended me i would'nt say a word in protest. there's no place for sissy slap fights. bogut's appeared incidental to me. i'm completely in agreement w/people saying stern hates the c's and has wronged them on more than one occasion but this was still weak.no biggie. heat of the moment. dumb decision. hopefully we can win let him enjoy a night off and watch a win.
how funny is it though all the suspensions and fear of the large black men.lol. it's always a "scary situation" when guys get into little scuffles. kenyon martin is a dope but he's 100%  right. this is a contact sport. meanwhile on the baseball diamond guys are throwing balls at guys heads(the most cowardly act in all of sports?), pig piling brawls with cowardly cheapshots thrown. baseball players are applauded for backing up their teammates for this crap.lol. look at hockey. guys punching eachother repeatedly in the face. but a hoopster shoves someone and it's like godzilla is about to tear the stadium apart.eek! run!!

I'd be surprised if it's not appealed.   To try and put a positive spin on this KG looked a little gassed towards the end of the 8 games in 12 days stretch.   Maybe having a game off with some extra rest and he'll be super amped up against the Pistons on Thursday.

Curious if we'll see a little of POB tomorrow night as the 4th big or even go with a small lineup at times with Paul at the 4 and put Walker in there for a few minutes.   NY seems to be playing a little smaller now with Randolph at the 5 in D'Antoni's uptempo style so maybe it will be a good time to experiment with a different lineup or 2.

I think Powe will have a big game tomorrow.   He totally ate up David Lee in the preseason game against the Knicks and he is due for a really good game.

TP for the positive spin.  I guess we'll see more of Powe, Scal, BBD, and maybe even a little POB.  Looking forward to more Powe.  Not so much the other 3, but I hope to be proven wrong.....

Im really hoping he appeals it for selfish reasons, but if he doesnt it will be good for him to get rest tomorrow.

i would appeal just to highlight how absurd this suspension is.

Bogut clearly hit KG twice in the face on that play....out side the action of the play. plus, he was inciting the whole game...dude deserved to be popped.

every time something like this happens i think of Tommy telling the Dave Cowens story of getting a bogus hard foul called on him.....then he runs up the court and body slams a guy and says "Now THAT'S a hard foul..."

Bogut was asking for it...and didn't even really get it. KG was the one getting banged in the face.

I agree that if this play was turned around and a suspension wasn't handed out we'd probably be upset.  It is definitely a weak suspension, but I don't mind a few random nights off for anyone in the starting lineup here or there throughout the season.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I didn't see the (KG) play.  Does anyone have a link?

Thanks.

It's on frontpage, here's another link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgzywEmqpoo

That's an elbow and a slap from
Andrew Bogus (pun intended).
Elbows are the worst.
What do you know?
THE NBA HATES THE CELTICS.
Dang...

This is it. I'm packing my bags
and going to NYC. I'm going to
look up Stern and let him know
how you REALLY make a flagrant!  >:(

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you.  If KG and Bogut reversed roles in this play, I still think no one needs a suspension.

This isn't a Celtics thing, this is a basketball thing.  When the league comes down and suspends players for something like this, it is just bad for the game.

This is bordering on silly.  Stern is putting skirts on all of the NBA players and a 4ft moving bubble around the messiah.

The reality is that if Garnett was carrying on in this cocky silly manner in the 60s, 70s, 80s, or even the early 90s, somebody's enforcer would have taken him out already. I think kind of cockiness and mouthiness is rubbing off on Perk in a bad way and also on Walker.  So if the suspension does something to curb that in Garnett, I'm all for it.

I love Garnett's contagious exhuberance.  But the level he's taken his act this year is unhealthy for his team.

so i guess those enforcers missed out on oakly, rodman, barkley, isash, pipen, jordan, dumars, ect. ect.

KG is nothing new in his constant trash talking and preening, He's just from a forgotten era.

Barkley, for one example, was 10x the agitator KG was, night in and night out. I haven't seen KG dunk over a guy and slam the ball into his face while standing over him yet for instance, nor walk around with his tounge out in a guys face the entire night.

And you know what, i loved that about charles, still do.

The problem isn't KG's attitude, its that the league has pussified itself to where thats no longer acceptable. it's sad.

as to KG: this is about toronto, not bogut. the NBA is taking a ton of heat for it, and the whole "celtics and lakers favroites of the league!!!" talk is going around again. This is a make up call for toronto and the PR black eye if gave the NBA with non-celtics fans.

What most annoys me about this situation is I wonder what would they do if the same thing happened in the playoffs.

If they suspended KG for something this minor in a playoff series I'd be livid. I know they will claim they would make the same ruling but I hope not.

No way they suspend him for the playoffs.  They were trying to send a message now, early in the season, right before a game that they simply don't need him for.

Forget the playoffs, I all but guarantee you if this happened in tonights game, there would either be no suspension, or the ruling would have conveniently come down on Friday morning, conveniently right after the national television showdown against Detroit.
