I'll say what most of you are thinking. Cassell adds nothing to this team. It's time to dump him and give the playing time to Pruitt. Why does management think they owe something to Cassell? His playing days are behind him.
I don't think they think they owe him anything. I think they are looking at him as insurance in case Pruitt and House are not able to hold down the backup PG spot. At the same time, he is a valuable guy to have around because of his work with the young guys (I love watching him on the sidelines...he is constantly teaching, and not just the PG's, he is helping out everyone, and when he is not teaching, he is talking with Thibodeau, asking his opinion on things).
This team did not need to keep Miles on the Roster. He looked nowhere near to returning. If he comes back in December in better shape, and with some of his athleticism back, then they can look at opening up a spot for him, but for the moment, Cassell is more valuable to this team.
