It looks like Cooz is no longer part of ANY broadcasts...Tommy is now only working the home games.

It's inevitable...Donny will be the full-time analyst shortly.  I like Donny...he needs more run.

I don`t like Marshall. He is just average and I would like a guy who can give us something special.

I think Scal would be a great analyst. He is knowledgeable, funny, instead of playing him in games he should be commentating them...

As to Tommy not doing road games should not be an indicator that he is being pushed out. He didn't do extended road trips last year. I think this is just due to family health problems. As to Donny Marshall, he seems to be the guy being interviewed to replace Tommy when that time comes. Tommy will leave when Tommy decides to leave. I don't know how much say the Celtics have in their agreement with Comcast, but Comcast should be smart about this. As to Cooz not returning that could also be Cooz's choice. We don't know.

Bob would always tell it like it is even if the C's were stinking up the place which was nice & refreshing to go with tommy's view that the C's are always right and were gelling for those years that we couldn't do a thing.
Don't really like Donny, comes off smug.  Note to him we are the boston celtics not uconn huskies.
Really like Donnie Wahlberg for commentary.

NOOO! i HATE donny marshall!! this had better have been a mutual agreement between tommy and csn due to health issues, or i swear i'll get league pass, just so csn doesn't get my business, and i don't have to listen to donny blab about how he knows how these guys feel and think because he was a bench warmer for the nets. what a tool! i'd rather wave scal and have him announce then have donny do it. they call it color commentating for a reason, you color up the basics. tommy's the man at this, and donny is as black and white (no color whatsoever) as a zebra.

Donny is absolutely terrible.  He's boring first off, but that isnt even what makes him bad.  All he talks about is reminding us, by the way I was on the Nets.  And he tries to give us anecdotes to when he "played".  Note to Donny, you never "played"  you were on the team and got a check.  But you didn't "play".  Don't tell us what people should have done when you didn't do it yourself.  With a career shooting percentage of 32% and under 1000 minutes played in 5 seasons I don't think your insight is worth much.

He tries to be anti-Tommy so much is painful.  He goes overboard in trying to make it look like he's being objective.  It ends up being the opposite.  I remember the Nuggets game he did, which was one of the worst officiated games ever played...(the numbers actually back it up) I think the Celtics had 25+ more fouls against them than the Nuggets, and the worst Donny said was "that was a difficult call" once.  He also made excuses and tried to explain how the refs were doing a good job when it was clear they werent.

He is just trying not to step on anyones toes and try to use this as a stepping stone to a national gig.  It gets in the way of real commentary and insight and for my money just irritates me.  He isnt good at his job, and even if you werent good at it be entertaining?  He is neither.  All we hear about is "by the way, remember when me and Ray were on the same team at UCONN??  O yea, one time I went over to his house and we ate Mac and Cheese together"

The sad day in which Tommy finally retires...lets give Cornbread a call.  Tell Donny to take a hike.

It will be a sad day when Heinsohn is gone. Tommy does Celtic koolaid keg stands before the game. He's truely one of a kind. A modern day Jonny Most.

I could care less about Cooz. Cooz and Heinsohn together we pretty good because they had the opposite view on the Celts game. Cooz for the most part was always negative. Can't blame Cooz because the negative comments were usually the truth with the prior teams from last year. Tommy and Cooz made up a tandem that was truly one of a kind.

It's too bad all of the guys you might consider from the Bird era are either employed elsewhere or dead.  I just don't see Donnie Marshall ever being accepted as a "Celtic" and I think Tommy has set the standard that the color guy should be a Celtic.

What's Chief doing?!
Yup

When I seen this thread title my heart sank I thought the worst.

I will miss Bob Cousy as a broadcaster. I guess we hate to let go of things from our childhood that we always loved. For me that was Cousy/Heinsohn on the road, Gorman/Heinsohn at home and Marv Albert and Mike Fratello on the NBA on NBC. Seems like it was Doug Collins and Hubie Brown on TNT.

Anyway I agree with Cousy that after all that time they could have handled it better than with just a phone call.

And please, anybody but Donny Marshall. Can we at least get another Celtic please? Something tells me Kevin McHale would be fun if he ever left Minnesotta but I doubt he would move back to Boston and do all that traveling once he gets fired from there.

Why not try and get Maxwell to leave his radio gig to do some color along Mike? Maxwell seems like the best option id Tommy ever decides he does not want to do it anymore.

Yeh, me too.  That would have been a bit of an insensitive title if Cooz had died.

I think Cooz will survive his pink slip just fine.  I always felt like he was just dropping in anyhow.
Yup

I like Marshal in the studio.  I do not like Marshal at the game.

Why not start tryouts?  Let see Pollard.

same WL, i like him fine outside of the games. but at the games he's just soooo bland. its like every national announcer. generic comment about how great every player is after every play.
