To tell you the truth, the series I'd like to see the most would be a Sox/Rays series.  They played some really tight battles in theor last two series, and the Rays stood up to the test well.  I just think it would some great baseball, and a nice story line too.

From a pure baseball sense that series would be the best.

In terms of ratings, or hype, MLB/Fox would love a Sox / Dodgers series.  They'd love to see the Cubbies there too I'm sure.

2003 redsox VS the new roster would be fun to watch hehe.

Yeh really...Not a whole lot of COWBOY UP going on in that clubhouse anymore.
Yup

After watching the two NLDS games yesterday, is anyone else convinced, as I am, that it doesn't really matter who comes out of the National League, that Tampa, the Angels and the Red Sox should probably be able to beat every team in the NL by at the very least a 4 games to 1 margin?

I just don't see a team in the National League that has three pitchers to throw at an American league team like the Sox do with Lester/DiceK/Beckett, the Angels do with Lackey/Santana/Saunders or the Rays do with Kazmir/Garza/Shields. Also, I find their offenses to be pretty weak.

Look for another AL drubbing of the NL in the WS. That's my take and honestly, I'm glad the Cubs are losing because I think they stand zero chance of beating an AL club this year anyway, even if they did make it to the WS. Let's hope that if they ever do make it to another World Series that it will be the time they win it all. Lose now Cubs, it will save all those poor tortured fans a lot of heartache.

Couldn't agree more. Some of the lineups are pretty good but I don't see an NL team with more than one ace pitcher - and even that distinction is questionable. Really the only starter in the NL playoffs that truly scares me is Rich Harden and his team should be long gone. I think Hamels would give the Sox trouble but he is only one pitcher. This is really no different from last year. The real battle looks like it will be the ALCS and the loser - like Cleveland last year - will be p---ed when the winner goes on to thrash the NL team.

3) Phillies VS. Red Sox - Let's keep in mind that the city of Brotherly Love is relative to Boston as far as fandom and has not seen a professional championship in 25 years!  :P

I'd like to see the Phillies make it, if only because I live down here and a lot of my friends follow the team.  That being said...  Phillies fans are pretty lame.  I know Philadelphia fans have the reputation of being passionate, but I don't really see that...  I was at a game last week, in the middle of a playoff race, and the fans were basically dead for 75% of it.

One thing Phillies fans *do* do is boo at the first sign of trouble.  In terms of being supportive, though, I can't say that they're anything special.  As Jimmy Rollins noted, Phillies fans are frontrunners.

Do your friends find a conflict of interest in having to root for Brett Myers, or do they just look the other way? I know people make mistakes, but I don't think that I could cheer for that guy if he pitched for Boston. Then again, you said Philly fans don't cheer...........

I do feel a little bad for Cubs fans

still though

LET'S GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fellow Bums fan, blazingarrow?

Let's enjoy these next 48 hours...a win away from a trip to the LCS....a month ago, we were down 4 1/2 games and facing Webb and Haren four times in eight days...here's to enjoying the ride as long as it lasts.

Everything seems to be clicking right now.

It's not a perfect storm, but it's good timing.

You hear a lot about Manny, but no one seems to be talking about how the Dodger pitching staff pulled it together at just the right time.

I also like what I'm seeing from Blake DeWitt this offseason. He may not be a future All Star, but he's shown flashes of decency this year.

cubs are really cursed. I tell you its that black cat. If i was a super faithful fan i would somehow sneak a white cat into the stadium and during the stretch unleashes it onto the field and purify the cubs again. LOL
