Some people on this board take themselves way too seriously, it`s downright pathetic.
It seems to me as if they`re more interested in winning an argument than a championship.

"passive aggressive" is really the key term here. The board is full of "passive aggressive" behaviour, atm. No need to discuss when you already have an opinion, huh? Always the same old, same old discussions because people want to get their opinion into the mix rather than listen to the other side. Every little statement gets twisted and used against you to win an argument, instead of discussing the topic at hand.
I guess I´m now as guilty as the people I called out...

It has nothing to do with you or anyone who is longer than 2 years on this board. It´s the general decline of respect and the increase of (not so) subtle jokes meant to insult the other poster`s fanhood or undermine his credibility.

And I feel like getting involved because I´ve seen and experienced it several times in the last months. I kept my mouth shut because I thought it wasn´t worth my time or energy, but as we say in Germany: "It´s one drop that gets the barrel to spill over" (I hope that makes sense in english). You can write "I agree with you, but there´s more to this topic, imo", and all you get is "No, I´m right", only with more words. Please understand that I won´t call anyone out directly, that´s why I posted it in the SOTOTT.
As I said, they know who they are.

Horrible. The things that happen in the world today are just horrible. Something happened near where I live last Monday that made me sick to my stomach and I can't even bring myself to mention it. I don't know what goes through the minds of some people. Pure evil.
