Apparently, Beckett suffered an oblique injury. The extent of the injury is unknown, but he might not pitch again this season. The Red Sox are making an announcement after the Red Sox/Yankees game.

Wow, I'm flattered, I think ;D

Hopefully he made you chuckle.  I though he was easily the best part of that movie.

Francona says Lester Game 1, Dice-K game 2, Beckett game 3.

The injury Gods are really coming down on us lately.  First Brady, now Beckett.  (I'm going to throw in Tiger Woods personally too, I can't wait to be able to watch the greatest golfer of all time play again.)  I guess they're telling us we've had such a good run and we need to be kept in check.

Hopefully Francona's words are true and he'll be good to go for Game 3.  His injuries have had a history of lingering on him.  I'm confident with Lester and Dice that we can get one in LA.  That would be a good scenario have Beckett on the mound at Fenway with a chance to take the series lead.  It does really hurt us though that he's not going to be able to go twice for us in this series.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

This is not good - I fear that them saying game 3 is to keep the Angels guessing, I am worried...
Now, on to 18...

This is bad.  Possibilities of no Lowell and Drew as well.  Sox could be in some serious trouble.
do it

I just saw a scroll on ESPN reporting that Drew said he's 100% ready to play Game 1, which probably means that there's about a 50% chance he'll be in the lineup tomorrow night.

The last time we saw Lowell out there it looked like he had Polio. I'm doubtful that he'll last the series.
