Fullcourtpass: Jaylen Brown gave the Celtics front office a list of demands and told them to complete them all or trade him, per @Scalabrine.
Brown was pushing for a trade to Milwaukee and even contacted his teammates about trying to team up there. (Via @SiriusXMNBA

I doubt the truthfulness of this report. However, it does fit Stevens' MO of not talking bad about his players even after they leave.

If it was true, then Stevens could have saved face by saying that from the beginning, but he didn't, which was selfless of him.

I really don?t think Brian Scalabrine would come out with this unless it was true. That would be a really poor career decision considering what he does for a living.

I believe the part about Brown asking teammates about Milwaukee.  Why wouldn't he?  That's consistent with prior reporting that Brown didn't ask for a trade, but he was okay with a Bucks deal.

The "give me X, Y and Z or trade me" stuff is new, seems inconsistent with what we've heard, and to me sounds like rumors meant to paint JB as the problem.  It wouldn't surprise me if Scal is repeating, unverified, rumors, or if those rumors were leaked by somebody within the organization, true or untrue.  The Red Sox were infamous for that, and with a new ownership group, who knows what we will see going forward.

I don't know if this is true or not.  I have to admit that I have my doubts, but I have no way to know.  It is possible that Scalabrine was told this by someone but that it isn't true.  If Scal heard this, did he independently confirm it with other sources?  Probably not.  For sure it is a big risk for him to come out with this if he is not absolutely sure it is true.  I see that Brown has issued a flat out denial.

Brown says he never demanded a trade to MIL.  That seems plausible.  BOS was not trying to trade with MIL because that is where Brown wanted to go.  BOS wanted Giannis.  And he is saying that he never "presented the Celtics with a list of demands".  This second part has a lot of latitude in terms of interpretation.  Things could have been discussed, but not demanded.  And maybe there was not a list, per se.

Again, I don't know the validity of any of this.  I could see that Brown may have said things to the team but not exactly demanded things, maybe, who knows.  Or maybe this is entirely false.   Seems hard to believe that Brown would "demand" things.  Also hard to believe BOS would leak a false story, so who knows.

It would certainly surprise me as I can?t remember Scal ever doing that before. He has been the Celtics color analyst for over a decade now. Why would he risk his reputation like that? I assume the information came from a trusted source.

Dude needs to let it go. He's getting more angry, more resentful, and more defensive. That is only going to erode his internal motivation and future success.

He was a titan of work ethic and character, but he's looking more and more petty.

It happened. It's done. He's on a championship contender. Go win a championship and prove the Celtics were dumb.

I think JB has always had a gigantic chip on his shoulder.  Why do you think this will erode his internal motivation? I think this stuff fuels him.

Hello everyone, I only really post during the season, so I hope everyone is doing well 🙏.
So, all I have to say is wow! If True, you would think this is a Huge story!
So, the fact that it was Scal, saying what he heard (plausible deniability/Hey that's what I heard!) makes me believe they are trying to say it was Not all on Brad. so, no big story, just hearsay.
This is not a risk to Scal in my opinion, he is not breaking a story, just passing along what he heard.
I hated Scal in the beginning, now I like him. Not because he is great or anything, but I guess I like familiarity. I really miss Tommy and of course, Gorman! Loved them! But, at least I am comfortable now with Scal carrying the Torch. He may be a knucklehead, but he is our knucklehead!

Hes got one helluva PR team

The fact that this was worded so carefully makes me think that theres truth in all that has been reported. For example, maybe Brown didnt make an official wishlist but maybe he listed out things he would like (like an extension, guaranteed usage, and equal billing). And maybe he didnt demand a trade but said ?if you cant give me this then what are we even doing here?

Brown never requested a trade to Milwaukee (PR team) but he was rooting for the trade to Milwaukee (which I think is what Scal said)

Decent enough to work for NBC Sports, NBA TV, and Sirius XM. Seems well respected within the industry.

Those seem like wise words.  I think in this case (Brown), he can use some level of external factors to his advantage, meaning productive motivation.  People doubt me so I will show them.  That sort of thing.  But all this "he said/she said" stuff, and the social media posts and comments, I don't feel that all this will be productive.  I can see that it may start to switch from fueling to sapping.

If he asked for my advise, I would tell him to let it go and focus on basketball.  Just stop answering questions about it and stop commenting on what Tatum (or anyone else) says.  Just have a pat answer, loved my time in Boston, wasn't easy to deal with how it ended, respect Tatum and the organization, but I am here (in PHI) now and that is my focus.

A comment and a question...

If JB demanded that he "be treated equal to Tatum" I can see that being an issue.  JB has every right to demand that.  He probably feels like Tatum's big brother a bit. He's won the big post season awards.  He led the Celts last year to a great record without JT.

But the Celtics always feature(d) Tatum over Brown.  From being the star of the jumbotron, to the last starter announced, to their PR/Marketing.  It had to eat at Brown, but at the same time I don't see the Celtics wanting to change what they do.

Second, these new reports say that Brown "even contacted his teammates about trying to team up there" in Milwaukee.  What does that mean?  To "team up" there?

Are they saying that Brown contacted the other guys rumored to be part of the Giannis trade and said "Hey, let's go do some good things there" or something similar?

If so, why is that even noteworthy?  It sounds magnanimous of a guy who's getting traded after leading his team to a title.
