When he tries to fit into a team concept like he has done for the knicks the past couple years, people think he's playing worse than when he was an allstar.  Thats not the case.  That him- average at best.  Don't you think House could average 20 and 7 if he got to dominate the ball like Marbury used to?

Yes, when I think of the New York Knicks of the past couple years, I think of a "team concept"

Second of all, no, House could not average 20 and 7 no matter how many touches you gave him. He does not have the ball handling or penetration skills hence why Marbury would be a valuable addition as a backup.

I'd rather have Marbury than Cassell.  But my strong preference would be to have neither.

I couldn't agree more.  As much as I think he's a bit off his rocker I know he can actually play the game.  But yeah neither would be my preference.

What, exactly, is the history between Marbury and KG?  Is there enough water under the bridge that KG would even give his blessing on acquiring Marbury?  Would KG's opinion be considered?

Odds on Marbury in Green?  40/1 (down from 1000/1 last week?)
Yup

The only thing I ever heard was that they butted heads in Minny but, KG is one of the better people in the league and he seems to be a 'water under the bridge' kind of guy.

Your chances of Marbury making the team are too high for me but, I had same opinion of Sam and you see how that one seems to be going.. well that is per Sam anyway.  I'll believe Sam is on the roster when he actually signs.

The whole marbury KG thing didn't happen in Minny. They were best friends there.. It was when he was Phoenix when he tried KG saying Amare was going to have a much better career then KG.. But I believe i saw a video with marubury saying he did apologize to KG about the quote.

Marbury > Pruitt
Marbury >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cassell

Which means:

Sign Marbury.

Also, isn't it funny how he specifically talks about our PG situation? He really wants to play here. But let's see if Donnie Walsh and Danny Ainge make it happen. I would like it.

In todays Globe article (page E1 ctd on E7) KG refers to Marbury as "Steph" and compares Posey's decision to leave with Marbury's decision to leave Minny for NJ (?) in 1999 and that he respects those decisions. Seems like a perfect opportunity to slam Marbury if he so desired or there was any animosity there. He chose not to, but that may speak to KG's class as much as it may to any lack of negative sentiment towards Marbury.

I, for one, think Marbury is too much talent to pass on at the minimum. Give him a shot and at the first sign of trouble....BYE BYE

Guys, do you actually realize how good he still is? He also says he has worked out really hard and is in great physical shape. Just have a look what he can still give you: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/stephon_marbury/game_by_game_stats.html It would be crazy not to sign him - a former All-Star, who isn't out of his prime and hasn't declined a bit. He is ten times better than Cassell & Pruitt together right now.

My dad is knicks fan and I have watched him the past couple of seasons in New York he has steadily declined in stats, I believe the reason for that is that he had to much on him. He felt like he had to be more of the scorer type then the passing type which is kinda true for New York. Plus he wanted to show everyone at home that he is the face of the franchise. I think he has matured from the situation in New York and if he does come here i would welcome him just like any of us would welcome any player because he is a Celtic on a team with three great stars and we know if any player has character issues you check them in at the door when you come to play for this franchise now. So I really believe Marubury can fit in here and play the back up role, and people saying you know Darius has character issues along with Giddens and Tony That will all calm down when you have the Big 3 around all year. I will say it now this team would be at least 5x better with Marbury as the back up here and Eddie playing the 2 spot.

Marbury=Moss?

good analogy.

I think with Rondo stepping it up this year we won't really need to address the back up point guard spot so heavily.

Would Moss be happy coming off he bench and being the 4th, 5th option?

Marbury is a locker room problem.  No need for that in Boston.

True.  Just posing the question.  I'm not actually going to make any statements today, just pose questions.

OK? (I needed to get a question in)
