Best guess, it's not a roach, roaches have long antenna that they use to feel around, and are always really quick.

i looked at some pictures on google images and it looks kind of similar to a cockroach.  The legs and antennas look similar but the body doesn't at all.  I wouldn't be able to sleep for weeks if i woke up with that next to me.  Google "american cockroach" and look at some of the pictures that come up.

I've heard some nightmares about waking up next to something scary, but honestly - how much did you drink last night to end up with that sleeping next to you?

Im about to get my bs in biology, and my genetics professor (and self-proclaimed "bug guy" hobbyist) was right behind me in the computer lab when i was looking at this.

It is not an american cockroach, but neither are more roachs we see.

However it is not a cockroach at all and most certainly carnivorous (based on the shape and curve of the mandible), possibly parasitic. He said you probably caught it by surprise and try waking up around 2am and quickly hitting the lights in your bedroom. Your bedroll should be covered with them. Also he said wash all your cloths and possibly burn your bedding, unless you're ok with the house (and body) guests.

i would have to move out, immeditly if that happened in my apartment. I know we probley have bugs, but if i ever woke up in the middle of the night and that happened *shudder*
