Most of our prior centers (sans Vitaly, when he's not being Greg Kite for the night) were soft. LaFrentz was an outsider shooter (ala Dirk Nowitzki) but less consistent; his time in the box was for his height and the fact that he wasn't a complete bozo like Blount.
Perkules is an enforcer and takes his job to heart. His foul trouble days were his first to third season but now, he can play that role w/o a hitch. Sure, he'll never be the rebounding title man like Big Ben, nor a daily 20 pt/ 10 rb guy, but so what? I'd rather a more humble man who can give both Pierce and KG some muscle to throw clowns like Bynum, Ilgauskas, or Gasol into the bleachers. And finally, he's got a nice finishing touch on the block when he gets an offensive rebound.
