ok, let me say that for the most part i agree with this list, but it has some glaring "huh?"'s.

http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/10977659

honetly, bynum at number 3? are you kidding me?

I have never seen a kid get hyped as much as andrew bynum has. Now, i agree he is a good player with alot of talent,he might even turn out to be great. but he had a 15 game stretch where he looked great last year after a year and a half of being very inconsistant, and he had a major knee injury.

and your telling me this kid deserves to be ranked as the number 3 center in the NBA? ahead of established guys liek sheed, camby, and chandler?

also, shaq is way to high at 4, and chandler is behind greg oden? what? greg oden, who is coming off a major knee surgery and has yet to play a minute in the NBA is 8th, and chandler, who took a huge step forward and plays for a NBA title contender is 10th?

not only that if your tyson, but you had what all the experts are callign a break out year (including the guy writing him up in this article, who signs his prasies), and you drop 3 spots to tenth best center in the league behind two unproven guys, one of whom has yet to play but somehow gets ranked 8th comign off microfracture surgery? what gives cbs?

other bad ones. JO at 7, is this list from 3 years ago when he was last relevant?
shaq at 4 makes zero sense.

as to perk, I think he should slide up 3-4 spots, just because i think the list has 3-4 people who have no buisness being where they are, but i agree with thier anylasis of him over all.

what do you guys think of the list here? im going with intersting, but very flawed, espiaccly with regardes to older players and young hyped ones.

Perkins in our minds continues to grow into a dominate force, but for the sake of rankings, we have to consider the fact he has a reputation of being injured and his numbers aren't all that "strong" (although he is!).

I do agree that Bynum and Oden are nothing more than speculations and one would think based on speculations, Perkins would be higher on the list.

These are one of those lists that I'd like to see compared to the same list next year, for I think that Perkins will continue to improve and make his presence felt.

Here are the top 20 centers in the NBA, based on players' projected impact on the 2008-09 season

It's only what they expect these players to do, not necessarily based on talent. Nonetheless, this list is pretty inaccurate.

No way Bynum, Shaq, Sheed (PF??) should be that high or even on the list.

As lists go this is a pretty good list. I have some problems in the 4-12 range but overall fairly good.

I thought that about sheed too, if were going to call him a C, shouldn't Tim duncan be atop this list?

so your cool with bynum's 15 good games putting him 3rd in the league, and chandler having a breakout year yet dropping 3 spots to 10th behind a guy who hasen't even suited up yet in oden?

I think it's a decent list, i think his top 10 is laughable. Suprisingly, i think he got 11-20 mostly right on the money.

Took me a while to find it, but they had Amare #1 last year.  I guess he's no longer a "center" with Shaq on that team.

Yep I'm fine with Bynum being third. I consider him a Top Five center behind Duncan, Dwight, Yao, Oden. Duncan isn't on the list so Bynum is fine at #3.

Like I said I have a few problems 4-12, Chandler and Camby being two of the big ones, those two switching places would make me happy.

I'm flabbergasted that Jermaine O'Neal and Andrew Bynum are even in the top ten.

Right now, if I had my choice, I'd take Chandler, Kaman, Dalembert, Horford, Okafur, Bogut and Perkins over Bynum. I'm sorry, but can the LA hype machine please stop and can people in the media start looking at that team without the purple and gold glasses on. Bynum, after 3 years, has proven nothing more than that he's good at getting hurt.

My top ten:

1.) Howard
2.) Duncan - I don't care what they say he's been playing center for that team for the better part of the last 4 years.
3.) Yao
4.) Camby
5.) Chandler
6.) Shaq
7.) Wallace
8.) Kaman
9.) Horford
10.) Okafur

not saying your wrong who, cause there both talented, but to me putting a kid who had a great half month adn a kid who's never played in the NBA and is a microfracture knee surgery removed from his collage form in the top 5 is stretching it to me.

Not that eiher one isn't talnted enough to get there, but i'd like to see them prove it before giftwrapping them such a high rating.

TP, those would be my rankings pretty much spot for spot, though i'd swap duncan and howard.

Forgetting the issue of the list for a second, a quick point about Perkins and Bynum: If Mitch Kupchak calls Danny tomorrow and offers Bynum straight up for Perk, how does Danny answer?

I can't imagine it's anything other than either an emphatic "Yes!" or perhaps a "You're just messin' with me, right?"

Wow they put Al on their top 20 fantasy centers list (#3!), but left him off of the overall list, which was obviously unintentional.  This proves how poorly planned and constructed this list really is. m I'm interested in seeing their picks for the other position, if only for the laughs.

Also, rank the craziness of my list on a scale of 1-10.

1. Yao
2. Dwight
3. Camby
4. Sheed
5. Chandler
6. Al
7. Kaman
8. Bynum
9. Bogut
10. Okafor
11. Shaq
12. Dalembert
13. J O'Neal
14. Okur
15. Miller
16. Z
17. Biedrins
18. Perk

It seems like the C spot has a lot more players that I find underrated than any other position.  Bogut, for example, is still young and could end up being worth every penny the Bucks gave him.
I left Duncan and Oden off for "technical" reasons  :P
