Come on, we have the Strawberry Queen.

If there's a Banana Queen (or worse, a Banana King) I don't want to see him / her.

EDIT:  Ok, there *is* a Banana Queen.  I ask you, though, does this compare to the above link?

That queen just has nothing going for her, at all.

Ironically the Strawberry Queen had her title "stripped" for appearing at the Golden Banana (not that I'd know about such things)

See?  Bananas corrupt America's youth!  They're in league with those dastardly oranges in an anti-America conspiracy!

Strong points made by all. I voted strawberries for several reasons.

1. Those strands on Bananas. They leave that uncomfortably dry feeling on your toungue. I don't know if I articulated that properly, but I hope some if not all get what I'm saying.

2. Banana flavored "Now & Laters" were disgusting.

3. Bananarama - They weren't that great

4. That poor O'Doyle family would still be thriving today had it not been for that pesky banana peel. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'm pretty sure that banana peels are right there with speed and alcohol as leading causes in both car and domestic accidents.

Did you know there used to be 2 different types of bananas, but a fungus killed off one of the types entirely, and scientists say that the same might be happening to the only type of bananas left within 40+ years.  So bananas should win just because after that strawberries will rules for eternity.

Bananas should be rewarded for their genetic inferiority?  I think not!

I was recently reading about a similar blight that took out the American Chestnut tree in the early 20th century. The blight was brought over from Japan and wiped out millions of thee giants in a very short period of time. Pretty crazy, but not uncommon.

...oh, and to keep this on topic, the preferred food of the American Chestnut was the banana, so I think we should give a proxy vote on the trees behalf ::)

No kidding. I've got no love for Dodo Bird while we're at it. If Bananas can't hang, then I say good riddance. Who even needs potassium, anyways?

I'll miss Banana bread.....

[dang], a late strawberry rally.  Time to get serious here.

People are starting to see sense. I think the strawberry queen/costume/sucking did it. And now for the money shot...

How many bananas have you seen wearing tuxedos?

This is a little disturbing:

I'm not sure what I think about that.

I'm not sure what I think about that.

I saw one similar earlier and also found it disturbing.

I suppose the only positive I can take from it is that the strawberry has inserted itself and transformed the banana, bursting out and multiplying, like the facehuggers from the Alien trilogy.

Haha.  True.  The strawberry totally dominated the banana here.  Pwned!

;)

I almost feel as though I should give the banana a sympathy vote.
