I've mentioned a few times on this forum that for the better part of this summer I worked as a vendor at Fenway Park. I've been trying not to work the games lately, because I'm really sick of the place. Last night was the whatever consecutive sellout game, and we had big company so they called me in. Here's a funny story.

When gates opened, they had players in uniform over by the right field gate to greet people coming in and pose for pictures.

It's amazing how many people walked right by the players without realizing who they are.

I'll be honest, I didn't recognize a lot of them. That is mostly because I don't really care, I think baseball is what happens when basketball is over and we're waiting for football.

The one player who was impossible to miss was Casey. That dude is HUGE.

At one point, an elderly woman walked up to a player (not 100% who it was, I think a bullpen guy) with her ticket stub. She asked if the player could tell her where her seats were. The player said "sorry, I'm not an usher". The woman said "oh" and walked away.

Absolutely priceless.

Granted I don't remember who the guy was either, but I was there for work, I didn't just pay however money dollars to go see the team.

I'm hoping maybe the ticket was a gift.

edit- I better leave out the word I called Jacoby within earshot a few months ago, but let's just say I can't believe I didn't get fired for it.

goes to show that so many cheer the laundry not the person wearing the laundry.

I always wondered how the vendors could actually do their jobs without being tempted to watch the game. I guess some aren't big fans!

That's a priceless story, I guess the only solace that baseball player can take is that he is paid more than anything close to he deserves.

Fan Photo? Or whatever they're called. No, and they work directly for Fenway Park. So blame Fenway.

I work for an outside marketing company, and BOA is one of our clients. That's a fancy way of saying I'm the "sign up and get a t-shirt" guy.

Amen.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
