I wonder if anyone else has used Google Chrome.  I am using since yesterday and it looks very good to me.

I'm sticking with Firefox. Chrome has a lot to do to overtake Firefox in my book.

Im using it right now lol i like it alot ported over everything i had from firefox nicely. I like how it does tabs with showing all the recent pages and ability to rip the tabs. I also really like how i can use the address bar basically as google. The apps part is also quite nice i use it for meebo/gmail/etc im still looking into all its features but its pretty good so far

Keep in mind this is an early beta or whatever... version 0.2 or so. It's clear that it needs extensive work, but for a start it looks very good.

oh, totally agree. once they get it tuned up, i'd be happy to give them another shot. the foundation is nice.

plus, it has privacy browsing, which im a fan of. fire fox needs to follow suit on that.

While it is work in progress I think it is very nice.  Firefox will continue being my main browser but I will use Chrome sometimes.

  • The good ole days.
I've been reading about Chrome the past couple days while on the john at work... meant to try it out last night.  The article I read today was a thorough review from someone who's been using it for 2-3 weeks now and I'm guessing I'll echo most people here.... great potential but sticking with Firefox for the time being.  Not sure if I'll like that each tab is it's own page or that there are no menu buttons.

My understanding is that each tab being its own browser process is for performance enhancement. It still will look like one browser with multiple tabs...

I agree with the general consensus about sticking with Firefox but...

Chrome is eventually going to surpass Firefox. It's pretty much impossible for a company like Mozilla to compete with Google. Google has infinitely more development resources and much more influence to promote it.

What's primarily keeping me with Firefox right now are the extensions. Developers have built a huge library of extensions that make Firefox much powerful than Chrome... for now.

Perhaps, but couldn't you make the same argument about Microsoft?  I mean, they're not exactly a small company, have plenty of resources, and install their web browser on millions of machines that run their operating system.  And yet, Firefox manages not only to compete, but to excel.

You are totally right Roy.  Anyway, I would not be surprised if down the road Firefox and Chrome merge...

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i've been sold on firefox for some time, so as nice as chrome might become, i'll have to be sold on it before i head that direction.  firefox is great to work with...
