Fin is old man.. too old... I didnt realize we were in the running,  and I'd rather not waste a roster spot on him.

Ray Allen is like fin x 100

The Spurs already got Roger Mason from the Wizards to replace Finley. The Spurs only signed Finley to replace Jon Berry.

Really tells you the faith they have in TA and the rookies.

would you put all your eggs in a basket full of rookies and a guy who hasn't proven he can be a consistent bench player?  I like that the c's were going after Finley, its more insurance than a lack of faith imo
They got Cassell for 'insurance' last year in this manner, that sure helped a lot.

Maybe.  It seems from scouting reports that Giddens' excels in rebounding, defense (and like Posey, he has freakishly long arms), and his outside shot.  That bodes well for him, as he won't be asked to do much more when he teams with the C's superstars.  I've seen some people allege that he's not that polished off the dribble, but that shouldn't matter much, as the times his number will be called on an iso play will be few and far between.

As for no free agents wanting to come to Boston ??  I must be not remembering last year correctly.  If you win, vet FA will come!

generaly you have to ask them to come. from what we know we made competivitve offers to 2 vetrans, posey and finley, and probley an offer to thomas, who loves the spurs.

the only other thing close was lue, and we were short 600k.

if you don't offer, people don't come lol.
