uh, yi was actually having a pretty decent rookie season before the injury, and looked good in spurts in the USA-China game.
I'll give him more than 40 games before i put him in darko's class personaly. nto saying he's going to be incredible, but to say he's a bust after half a year, most of which he looked good for? kind of harsh.
Did you actually watch the USA/CHINA game? Because I watched the whole thing and you couldnt even tell he was on the floor until the 4th quarter when he got that dunk back on Carmelo i believe it was. He then hit a couple 3's while the US was walking around on defense. Even with that he was probably the worst was the worst player that played for China at least in this game.
Yi will be better this year but his consistency wont be there. Needs another year or two for that.
thus why i said in spurts, and not "played well all game"
and he wasen't teh worst player, by far, though he did have a bad game. the honor of worst players go to china's turnover prone gaurds, who handed the USA about 20 fast breaks wwith shoddy ball control.
he also had a nice block, and 3 nice rebounds. there's a diffrence between saying a rookie played well in spurts and saying he had a great game.
the point is, when i hear "bust" i think a guy who might get bench time if he's lucky for a few years. guys who showed pretty good production for a rookie before gettign injured don't qualify.
he may well be a bust, but we'll see in a year or two.
