Espn should have a reality NBA show where they put terrible World lottery picks into a 1 on 1 tournament.

Round 1 - Yi Jianlian vs. Rafael Araujo
          Nickoloz Tskitishvili vs. Darko Milicic
          Alek Redojevic vs. Olivier Saint-Jean
          Saer Sene vs. Yaroslav Korolev

I am not sure who wins this tournament of inneptitude on the court, but the real winner would be the NBA fans at home!!!!

lol, good topic. I would say it would come down to Yi and Darko at the end. I think Yi would prevail though.

Those guys were all lottery picks? And how did you know this?

I dont think Yi wins. He will be decent maybe even as soon as this year.  I think those other guys who I have never even heard of probably win.

Tskitishvili was known as Skita right? Skita is shorter, his name for the rest of this post. For my money, he wins that tourney.

Darko while disappointing is a solid NBA player. It's too early to call Yi disappointing, he was always going to need time, but he too can be a solid NBA player. Tariq Abdul-Wahad had some good times in the NBA .

Guys like Korolev, Araujo and Sene are busts in the absolute sense ... along with Skita. Skita went #5 in the draft right? He certainly had the largest hype of the four players coming in which is why he's my choice for the winner of this competition.

I don't think Araujo qualifies for this tourney. He played ball at BYU, so NBA scouts had just as good a chance to scout him as any other player, against the same competition as other American draft picks. I think he qualifies as just a bust.

Was Abdul-Wahad an international player?  For some reason I thought he was American.

Also, what about Jerome Moiso?

I was gonna say the same thing.

Born and raised in France but played college ball in the States - San Jose State.

First French player to play in the NBA

uh, yi was actually having a pretty decent rookie season before the injury, and looked good in spurts in the USA-China game.

I'll give him more than 40 games before i put him in darko's class personaly. nto saying he's going to be incredible, but to say he's a bust after half a year, most of which he looked good for? kind of harsh.

I do not think Yi will be a bust either but a relatively productive player.  He was just the easiet one to remember off the top of my head.

I just that the premise of the show was brilliant, they could all play for a 10 day contract with the Griz or something.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.

Weis.  So close.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Did you actually watch the USA/CHINA game? Because I watched the whole thing and you couldnt even tell he was on the floor until the 4th quarter when he got that dunk back on Carmelo i believe it was. He then hit a couple 3's while the US was walking around on defense.  Even with that he was probably the worst player for China at least in this game.

Yi will be better this year but his consistency wont be there. Needs another year or two for that.

thus why i said in spurts, and not "played well all game"

and he wasen't teh worst player, by far, though he did have a bad game. the honor of worst players go to china's turnover prone gaurds, who handed the USA about 20 fast breaks wwith shoddy ball control.

he also had a nice block, and 3 nice rebounds. there's a diffrence between saying a rookie played well in spurts and saying he had a great game.

the point is, when i hear "bust" i think a guy who might get bench time if he's lucky for a few years. guys who showed pretty good production for a rookie before gettign injured don't qualify.

he may well be a bust, but we'll see in a year or two.

Sorry about that, I must have read that too fast and didnt see the spurts part.

TP4mylackofreadingskillz.

I agree that he will be a decent player in a few years and is not the biggest bust out of these guys just after one year.

np, back at ya.

agree with you as well, i think he'll be a solid starter. if he fills out that body a bit and plays some post defense, he could be a star. right now, i can see him becoming a high scorer, but suffering from a lack of defensesive skills, which so far he doesn't seem to put alot of stock in.

He espically needs to improve his rebounding. He's to big and his hands are too good to get out rebounded the way he did at times this year.

will be intersting to have him in conferance, and get to see him alot more this year.
