Im 5 feet tall and i play ball a lot my vertical is 18 inches but i still have a lot to grow. (Anyone think 18 inches isnt bad for a 5 foot 14 year old?)

It's pretty decent, but then again it depends on how much you work on your vertical.

Get on the track team or play volleyball.  When I was in high school I was kind of short, but I ran track and played volleyball in my spare time and as soon as I grew out (6'2") I could dunk.

Then I got mono in college, lost 30lbs (from 150 to 120...yeah...) and I've never regained the muscle.  I can get rim from just an easy jogging jump, and I can still get my chest to the top of a volleyball net, but I don't know how to measure something like that.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

Im not sure what my vertical is, but the first time I touched rim I was in 7th grade, 11 years old I was 5'10" 175
First time I dunked I was in 8th grade , 6'0 tall, 185.
I started dunking easily as a freshmen in High school 6'3" 200 as I could get about a ball length or ball and a half higher than the rim.
Dunking was cool, but I never really thought it was a big thing, my friends would get all p---y with me when I would just lay it in on a fastbreak.
I havent dunked since I was a sophomore in High School, my knees never really responded well to me jumping alot.  But I still pushed it.  Just never made it a priority to dunk.

Now that I am 30 soon to be 31, I can touch rim but thats about it, and what a struggle that is. From standing still.
Im still 6'3" havent grown since I was 13 and I still weigh 205, with alot of maintenance of course.

How do you get your vertical leap higher (how to you practice?)

There are several things you can do. As previously mentioned, you can try Air Alert. But as for me, I do a lot of calf raises (they really help with your jumping). Also, jump rope helps you and so does doing stadium stairs. Try all of this stuff and you will see an improvement.
