I'm looking forward to watching
the US vs. Australia in the men's
b-ball tournament. It begins at
4:20 PM CET -that's 10:20 AM Eastern  ;)
Spain is leading Croatia 51-38 after
three periods and look like they'll
win this one easily.

Also looking forward to see what
Usain Bolt will do in the 200 meter
race. Did anyone watch the semi heats?
He was so dominant once again. If
the conditions are perfect, I expect
to see him threaten Michael Johnson's
"unbeatable" 19.32 race.

Denmark will square off vs. Croatia in
the men's handball tournament. This
may sound boring to you but coming
from a small country like ours, it's
really one of the few interesting things
we get to watch. I won't be too sad if
they should lose, though  ;)

China have the most gold
medals so far but the US
leads in total medals.
Denmark is at No. 22 which
is quite okay. At least it's
better than Finland, Norway
and Sweden who are our Nordic
rivals  ;)

I took a look at the medals table and there are a few interesting things.
England third? At the Atlanta games (if i`m not wrong) they won just one gold but they seem the get back on track.
The gold medals for India and Bahrein (first ever)

The bball so far goes as expected. Spain didn`t have any problems against Croatia, Lithuania seems to control the game against China. The next two are more interesting games. USA will win but the Aussies look good and the best game of the quarterfinals IMHO GRE vs ARG with Maradona on the stands.

Okay, thanks.
I read earlier that the USA-AUS
game would be on at 16:15 CET
which was totally wrong.
Luckily, I've got CelticsBlog and you
guys to help me out   :)

Things getting a little testy in the US-Aus game

Maybe the Americans are mad that
Australia is giving them a run for
their money  ;D
Anyway, it's nice to see Team USA
being pressured for a change.

How is Australia so good in sports?  Actually, I know the answer to that question, but it's still interesting that a country of 20 million be so good.  I think the Olympics should focus on getting India involved in sports.  Just like China, a country with a population that big would be a huge market.  The first start to getting them more interested is adding cricket as an Olympic event.

Also, the Aussies are not backing down at all.  They're playing well and getting into the Americans head.  The Aussies could actually be ahead if it wasn't for those easy layups they missed.  All I know is that no matter what happens in the second half, the 6th or 7th best team left in the tournament should NOT be turning this into a game if USA was so dominant like the other topic was saying.
Baby Jesus!

I follow the game through play by play and Australia "looks" very good. USA has(or have??) missed many free throws but the dominate in the paint.... 14 offensive rebounds against a team with good big guys is impressive
