This team has established players at each position and is ready to win a title this year.

I don't think Charlotte can compete with the top teams in the East.  Deron is an amazing player.  Outside of him, though, there's nobody that really scares me.  I liked your team quite a bit more when it still had Yao and Gordon.

second that roy. i thought it was a bad move for the bobcats.

Well, my roster has changed quite a bit. I would love to hear some comments/concerns/praises/criticism and how you guys think I'll finish.

C: (27) Yao Ming 22 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 2.0 bpg (and looks to be healthy)
PF:(25) Emeka Okafor 13.8 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 1.7 bpg (on a very off year)
SF:(29) Hedo Turkoglu 19.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.0 apg (emerging into an all-star)
SG:(25) Ben Gordon 18.6 ppg, 41 % 3fg 91 % ft (all in limited minutes)
PG:(29) Earl Watson 10.7 ppg, 6.8 apg, 29.1 mpg (6th in assists per 48)

6: (30) Jason Terry
7: (24) Carl Landry
8: (33) Jerry Stackhouse
9: (22) Kyle Lowry
10:(21) Roy Hibbert

Everyone besides Stackhouse is 30 or younger, so my team is not old. As many have been saying, it takes a superstar to win. I have that superstar in Yao. My team offense will work very nicely.

Watson can run the offense, which he has proven he can do. Turkoglu can help out in that category, while also slashing and hitting the 3. Gordon will provide a lot of the scoring and will often be open when Yao is doubled. Yao and Okafor will complement each other nicely with their outside and inside games respectively.

I feel my team has a chance of making it pretty far. What do you guys think?

I think there isn't a better 5,4,3 combo in the league, but Ben Gordan and Earl Watson are only serviceable as every day starters. Jason Terry off the bench with Stack and Landry is good, but how does Lowry and Hibbert fit into all this?

Maybe I still have a couple of moves up my sleeve.  ;)

Curry is available.

  • Anything's Possible
Bibby/Gibson
Bell/Reddick
Jefferson/Moon
Brand/Millsap
Mutombo/O'Bryant

imagine a complete barrage of 3 point shots. no team can play loose on the perimeter, giving brand a lot of space on the inside. its like the finals play with the machine and ray allen.

Become Legendary.

Yep, it'll be bombs away with your squad.

Unfortunately, Mutombo can't play more than 15 minutes a night, and his backup is completely unproven in the NBA. The opposition can double Brand immediately, and still should be able to defend the perimeter.

Your bench is thin as well. Millsap and, to some degree, Moon are the only players who can play D. I think you need another big man, perhaps two, and a SG who can play defense.

I like this team with they exception of the Center postion. You can't expect a 43 year old to start in todays NBA.

Mutombo should have a more limited role as a backup and O'Bryant should should a 3rd string Center.

If you can somehow address those needs without giving up too much this team could make a good run. :)

I love the middle of your lineup. Aldridge  has a nice jumper for a a big man that could open of the lanes for JJ as it did for Roy.

The PG and C position could use an upgrade but I think this is a playoff team.

Very nice young team, has to be in consideration for the "future" category. Obviously another big would help that cause.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
We're almost done:

C: Horford / Battie / Mourning
PF: Amare / Haslem / Wright
SF: Gay / Webster
SG: Iguodala / Mobley / Ross
PG: Ford / Blake

Let me add, I am absolutely thrilled to come away with Battie / Mourning / Ross this round.  That gives me a lock-down element to my defense.

P.G.  Jameer Nelson      To be the starting PG and feed the post with mid range shot
Shawn Livingston   To bring some size to the table and deffend bigger guards
S.G.  Mike Dunleavy      To open the floor and guard big guards
Marco Jaric        To open the floor and deffend quicker smaller guards
Bobby Jackson      To bring experience and overall help add deepness to the guards
S.F.  Francisco Garcia   To start the scoring with good defense on quicker players
Bonzi Wells        To stop bigger SFs and bring rebounding and scoring
P.F.  Carlos Boozer      To be one of the stars
Ty Thomas          To help with his athleticism and stamina.
Birdman            To bring Hustle and rebounding for bigger Fowards
C:    Gasol              To be the second star
Za Za              To deffend and bang bigger centers

A starting Center would be big for you (no pun intended) because it would allow Varejao to back up Dirk and sure up both your bench and starting lineup. If you can make that happen without giving up too much, the sky's the limit.
