Who has the best Bench?

No one doubts our starters. There may be some concern about Perk's shoulder or Rondo's jump shot; but looking around the league I started to feel better about our bench. There are exceptions of course, especially with the Clips just signing J. Williams. All the sudden both the Clips and GS are look'in pretty deep. Who has the best bench (as things stand currently)?

If we kept Posey the Celtics would have the best bench but thats out the window now!

I like the Rockets with Shane Battier, Dikembe, Brooks, Landry, and the others to support their 3-man core.

Lakers bench is all shooters and no defense so they suck.

Pistons have Maxiell, Stuckey, Hunter, Affalo, and Amir Johnson which isn't bad

Utah, Spurs, and NO benches are kind of thin

Very few teams have bench player like the Celtics who play both offense and defense so if Giddens can step up along with House, Tony Allen, and Powe we still could have the best bench next year.

I still think we need a veteran 7 footer cause I don't think Patrick is ready yet!

Yeah but on paper I think Portland owns for best bench even though their unproven.

1). Houston If the "Rapper who can't Spell" doesn't destroy the team chemistry wise, they are the deepest, most talented team in the league going away. Though I'm pretty sure Artest destroys team chemistry.

2). Utah Solid at every position 1-5, and solid backups at every position.

3). Portland They are somewhat weak at PG though... But man - the front line is SCARY.

Houston's bench wins this one overall on paper. But we still have to wait until the end of each year to see which bench was the most productive. Our bench was only really successful with at least 1 of the big 3 out there with them. In Houston you have Mutombo, Head, Battier, and maybe a resurgence in his career with Steve Francis.

IP ..... Bayless! You forgot Bayless!

Terrific young point guard that should fit beautifully next to the Brandon Roy. I expect Martell will continue to start at SF and Outlaw to back him up, and for Bayless to take the starting point later in the season (key bench player at first).

I guess the point is we are not that bad off - "step back from the edge" and all it would take is one move to solidify an already decent bench. A lot rely on untested rookies in key roles. Our strength is that we have decent fall backs in all positions except possibly C - depends on BBD's conditioning.
PG: House, Pruitt, TAllen
SG: TAllen, House, Giddens, Pruitt
SF: TAllen(?), Giddens, Walker, Scal
PF: Powe, BBD, Scal,
C:  POB, BBD(?), ......?

Of those mentioned Houston, Detroit and Portland stand out.

NY is always interesting, especially with the team going through a major workover.
Hard to say who their starters will be. But with competition for minutes second unit could be interesting.

Seeing that the season has got underway i thought it would be interesting to see what people felt so far about benches around the league.Portland's bench is looking pretty good especially with Rudy Fernandez.
