I personally see a very competitive camp for the 2 and 3 positions as TA has yet to solidify his status as a consistently competent 8 man rotation guy (even though he received a vote of confidence from Ainge with a 2 yr deal). Not to mention, TA and RA are both in the dimunitive side when matching up with many of the league's 3s. I anticipate Giddens, given his positive outlook (recent article talked about how he never stopped smiling) and defensive ability (quipping that his signature move will be the defensive slide) suiting up throughout the season and competing for minutes at the 3. While some might note he isn't much bigger than TA, Giddens slashing approach, penchant for rebounding, and apparently physical style should enable him to be a factor there.
Walker will probably spend the first half of the year in the D-League or even the whole year in Europe. Either way, I think many will continue to follow him not only because of his promise and personality (appearing to be genuinely excited and motivated to be a Boston Celtic) but also because he will dominate regardless of where he goes. While some aspects of his game need work, reports suggest that he could score in double figures on a poor NBA team. The obvious caveat is that the C's are no longer a poor NBA team, postponing Walker's official introduction to the Gawden til he demonstrates a well-rounded game. Nonetheless there are several reasons to be excited about Walker that don't include the dunk contest as he has produced at the highest levels of competition, displaying a fire and tenacity on both sides of the court and providing glimpses of being a complete, All-star 3 man. see last year's game v. USC.
