Detroit is now the clear favorites to win the east/championship, now. Michael Redd and Al Harrington is a huge upgrade over Gordon/Terry.

"Clear favorites"?  I don't think there is a clear favorite.  What Detroit did is put themselves on Orlando's and New Jersey's level in the East.  Redd is a much better fit for their team than was Gordon.

I think their slightly above Orlando's and NJ's level.

Semantics, I guess, but if they're slightly above the level of those other teams, I'm not comfortable calling them clear favorites.  I'm of the opinion that any series between those three teams is probably a coin flip at this point.

The Detroit Pistons have announced this statement following their last trade:

We are very happy to announce that Michael Redd will be a member of the Pistons. We think he can step in right away and score a lot of points for us. We didn't see eye-to-eye with Gordon, as he said he would rather play somewhere in the south.

We feel with our new and improved roster we are ready to contend now.

Roy...come on... if this trade isn't vetoed the Win now category is over...

And Gm of Detroit are you paying people off? if not you should be in cooperate sales

I would vote this trade be reviewed by the commissioner

1) I don't think Detroit is the clear cut best team in the NBA;

2) Why should this be vetoed?

Yeah, I've been working very hard to improve my team to contend for the Eastern title, shopping Harrington around, but with no luck.

I get younger at the SG with Gordon, improve my backcourt with Terry over James (who will help backup both positions as a 6th-man type), and picked up Hibbert as a future center. I do sacrifice talent at the SG, definitely.

Why would this trade be vetoed?

Exactly.  Here are the principles:

Michael Redd 22.7

Harrington 13.6

Mike James 5.0

Jake Voskul 2.2

=====================

Ben Gordon 18.6

Jason Terry 15.5

Damien Wilkins 9.2

Roy Hibbert:  1st rounder

I don't like it for Atlanta, but that's not a deal that can be vetoed.

Why would this trade be vetoed?

Ok commish, you are assessing value by where players are drafted correct? That was the grounds in which you have vetoed before...

This trade is lopsided.

Eh... 3rd, 4th, 7th, 10th for 2nd, 4th, 11th, 14th

Cross out the two 4ths, and you have:

2nd, 11th, 14th for 3rd, 7th, 10th

That seems fair, or at least within the realm of possibility.

With the 17th pick in the 15th round, the Pistons select Jason Collins.

He adds some much needed depth at C, and is a vet that can help on a championship team.

Yao/Vohskul/Collins
Marion/Landry/PJ Brown
Turkoglu/Harrington
Redd/Green/Murray
Watson/Lowry/James

I think my team has a shot at the title.

The Heat select Shawn Kemp.

They immediately put him out to stud (a talent they figure he still has) in hopes of building for the future.

Not based on what has been vetoed in the past.

Consistency please...
