The Cavs select a young swingman that turned it on pretty well for the Knicks at the end of last season:

They were ruled ineligble to play this year but could be included as trading chips.... which i'm guessing is why MIAMI took a flyer on Childress in the 10th/11th round.

This got clarified when HOU tried to take Childress and was granted an immediate do over then he took Ty Thomas.

are overseas guys eligible to suit up on our teams....while it has been debated I still dont think i've gotten a firm answer on that one.  cause if yes...great...the whole game is premised around contracts having no bearing.  what that being the case why should overseas contracts make any difference on the players status.  If overseas players cant play then why did the Heat aka the Mod Squad take Josh Childress...that seems illogical to me.  Either way clearer guidelines need to be set for the future of this game

I took him because the Heat are not going to win this year.  There is nobody at that point left to draft that can change that.


The biggest value there was Childress that can be cashed in in the future when the Heat are in a position to win.  (whether as a player or as a trade piece)

I was debating picking him and Simmons up back in the 10th...very happy they were still around.

Also a real nice pick.  I almost went with him over Sheldon Williams, but opted to go with the Landlord.... how did he slide this far?  LOTS of teams need backup PFs (and some starting PFs) from what i can see.
