Blount is the most pathetic, lackluster, heartless, jerk to ever suit up...for any squad.

So I'm curious.  Who else comes to mind and why?

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Matt Geiger - refused to play for the Hornets during the playoffs out of fear that he'd hurt himself with free agency coming up.  Even though doctors had cleared him, he still refused to participate.  The Hornets would have had one of the better center rotations with him and Divac, but Geiger didn't want to risk it...in the playoffs.  In fact, at halftime of one game against Atlanta, he left the team at halftime.

There's a player with no heart, no commitment, and no team mentality.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Funny, the first names that come to my mind are ex-Celtics. You have to include Ricky Davis in this discussion. And while he doesn't qualify for the "jerk" part, I've always thought Chris Mihm was pretty heartless, lackluster and pathetic on the court.

Though not every player deserved the bad rap permanently, most of the guys from the "Jail-Blazer" days circa 2003-2004 were considered somewhat heartless, pathetic, and lackluster and there were a lot of jerks.

Edit: Wrong year. Look at the 2002-2003 team. You had guys like Jeff McInnis, Qyntel Woods, Zach Randolph, Ruben Patterson, Rasheed at his worst, Bonzi Wells, a crusty Scottie Pippen, Damon Stoudemire - wow, what a list. Again, some of these guys changed their reps after they left Portland, but during the 02-03 season, these guys were definitely heartless, lackluster, pathetic and a bunch of jerks.

I was thinking about him too. I didn't mention him because there were times, it seemed, that he played with some heart and played well. But most of the time, he was very heartless and lackluster.

I think we should try and differentiate between players who just aren't as good as we hoped they would be, and players who are truly pathetic. If we want to start this discussion it should be around guys like Ron Artest, Josh Howard, and Stephon Marbury. Guys who are truly fitting of this mold.
