Charlotte, NC -- BREAKING NEWS  The addition of point guard phenom prospect Derrick Rose has Bobcats mainstay Deron Williams fuming.  Williams, considered universally to be the 2nd best point guard alive, is upset that the Bobcats decided to take the 19 year old Rose.   Rose as a freshman lead Memphis to a 38-2 record (the most wins in NCAA basketball history) and eventually fell short to the University of Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA Championship Game.  Many compare Rose favorably to a young Chris Paul (former rookie of the year) and is considered by NBA professionals to be the top rookie prospect the league.

As a result of this recent event, Deron Williams has reportedly told Bobcats officials that he will not head into the current season with Rose as a teammate.  Insider sources insist that Williams has not officially demanded a trade, but takes the acquisition of Derrick Rose as a slight and would like the situation to be remedied immediately.   The Bobcats are reportedly listening to offers for both Williams and Derrick Rose.

Said GM LarBrd33, "I felt Rose was unquestionably the best prospect available at that pick.  Along with Greg Oden, he is considered to be the top rookie prospect in his class.  Oden was a top 10 pick in this draft.   When I saw Rose slide all the way to #53 it was a no-brainer.   We feel we can internally handle the situation with Deron Williams, but will not hide the fact that we are currently listening to offers for our franchise player."

In related news... Bobcats interim coach, Justin Timberlake, has been fired.   No further comment has been released.

Ugh..... how on earth do you still have a 3rd, two 5ths, two 7th, and 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, and 15th.  That is incomprehensible.  More power to you, but I almost wish there were no trades until after the draft so that people understood the real value of the pick (attaching a name to it does that).  Oh well!

Looking good after 2 rounds huh? Maybe I can pick up some d-leaguers to surround the former MVP?

Needless to say, I'm furious with previous management. But optimistic about my fourth round pick.

My draft board has looked like a seismograph.  Up and down, up and down, picking up additional value in (hopefully) each trade along the way.  Pretty soon, you end up with two 1s, two 2s, and a 3.

Solid.  I take it that you took over from M.L. Carr? or was it Isiah?  ;)

The Suns.  They traded away almost all the more expensive contract picks.

My feelings too.  I only did one trade (a silly one at that)

Yeah, well... like I said, more power to you!  I don't have the patience to pull of that many deals.

We should cope though. We've got some spanners in the works.

A little birdie once told me a legend that Roy Hobbs once traded a 10th rounder and 14th rounder for a 1st rounder.   I always figured it was hearsay and myth, but according to the tale... if you look really closely at Andre Iguodala's blazer jersey,  you can see the still present auras of Malik Allen and Kosta Perovic and hear the laughter of a distant clown.

HmMMmmm....

Yes, god bless Roy, but I believe next years draft would benefit from either a cap on pre-draft moves or judicious use of the veto. If only because several of the least responsible GMs then predictably left town. A fair argument could be made that CelticMaestro for one deserves compensatory picks, the state of that franchise is a joke.

That said, it would seem Roy, rather than put his foot on the league's throat, has been pretty conservative, picking up some of the most coveted and well rounded young talent in the league, but eschewing swing for the fences picks - no cornerstone players or championship winners. This years title is still up for grabs, 2011-12 probably not...

The New Orleans Hornets will release a statement in the coming days regarding previous ownership and announcing details of what's in store.

For the record though, we're not looking for compensatory picks. However, all donations welcome.
