Rubio is #1 on DX's 2009 draft board. As Brick as correctly stated, he's a franchise player: a potential Chris Paul or even better.
No, Sodbuster, I'm not exasperated; I'm just thinking of why McHale would have made the move, and my conclusion is that signing Telfailure is like having a speed-limiter on a rental truck: something to make sure that the good young nucleus 'Sota is developing doesn't wreck their chances of getting one of the last pieces of the puzzle they need--a solid young PG, which players go high in the lottery when available--by having too good of a record too soon, namely, this season.
thats a little harsh, did you see bassy play this year, particualry the second half? he looked very good in stretchs, and he came stright out of HS, so its not like hes 27 and he has no shot to get better. i mean, he's not going to be chris paul, but he isn't a terrable PG, and he showed marked improvment last year with consistant playing time. I think he'll be a good PG for them, to be honest. They have the ability to do what we did with rondo next year, make him the starter and have him defer to others (big al, love). him and al already seem to have a good vibe on the pick and roll. he had some outstanding games in the second half.
I'm not saying he'll have a rondo explosion, or that he's anywhere near rajon's level, but he's not mark blount in a PG's body, the kid can play.
I think eventualy he'll settle into some teams plans as a 6th or 7th man.
