You know who loves George?

Keith Van Horne. That's about it...

False - Posey backed up the 4/3 spots, not the 2/3 spots. FYI - he played more minutes at PF than SF.
For the record, Ainge stated in his last interview that he didn't think that the line-up with Posey at the 4 worked very well for us.

ehhh, its small ball. sometimes it works miracles, sometimes it doesn't. it got us back into game 4 pretty quick though.
Well, he meant the regular season, FWIW.

Devean George, IMO, is the worst possible signing.  He doesn't offer much.   With Maurice Evans and Ricky Davis out there, why go down this route?

We can't just add other teams remaining Garbage. The only reason why his still relevant is because of his champion years with the Lakers. I'd prefer a 70% Miles than a 100% George. I'm sure we can do better.

Agreed. I still think Evans is a little undersized to play SF, but he could get by on his strength and athleticism.

I'd take journeymen like Linton Johnson, Awvee Storey, or Ronald Dupree over George.

Hmm... I'm not sure what to think of George. As a player on the Lakers I hated him. He has good size though at the 3.

Evans isn't needed, since we have TA. I do like Evans though.
Ricky Davis has already clashed with Pierce and Doc. He's not coming.
Finley is old. His iffense is still decent. But George is a better defender.

Size-wise, he might be the best option. Danny are you sure Darius Miles isn't worth a spot?

If Devean George is indeed the most logical fit as the backup 3, what is he worth?

The minimum is my first answer.

The C's do have 2.5 or so left to spend. What other choice is there, that can give Pierce a blow when the Celts play the Cleveland Lebrons? (or Wizards, Hawks, Sixers, etc.)

I don't like the possible George signing but I don't like Ricky Davis either. We don't need more offense. We need a defense, dirty work guy.

I feel any talk of George coming over is just that....talk. It's nothing more than his agent letting other teams know that the Celtics are supposedly interested in his client. I don't see Danny Ainge signing George, it's just wishful thinking by his agent.

I have never seen these guys play, nor heard anything about them. Anyone else like them?

With George (as much as i don't like him), he had a sure role on those Lakers' teams: Play good defense, and hit the 3s. He did those things quite well for a bench player. I didn't see much of him in Dallas. But if we're going to land Lakers version of George, we could get a nice piece. .....ugg, i hate admitting that.

thank you. id rather gamble on tony and the rookies then bring in a guy whos best days are well behind him i think. people are still trying to find more poseys and its not gonna happen. wing defenders that shoot mostly 3's. its not gonna happen. id rather save our spot for mourning if possible.

From here on out, every day that goes by and George is not in our roster it'll be considered a blessing.

For those interested in Miles everyone realizes he's lost for the first 10 games, right. He's an injury question mark having not played in 2 years. I've heard him give interviews, he's not the brightest bulb in the package.

What is the interest in him?

Hasn't this team enough question marks in O'Bryant, Giddens, Walker, Pruitt, and Tony Allen's knee and dribbling ability to bring in yet another non sure thing.

I'm no fan of George but at least his defense and size is a sure thing.

We don't even know if Miles will be able to finally get himself back on the floor or if he will be even close to the same player as he was before the injury. Has having Tony Allen taught us nothing?
