They're a bad team with bad players with a bad logo with bad jersey colors with a name that sounds like a WNBA team. The only pleasure I'll get out of this team's existence this year is the laughs I'll have at their expense twice this season when the C's are up by 20 two minutes into the 3rd.

That's a bit harsh considering in 2 years they'll have one of the best players in the NBA in Kevin Durant and a strong supporting cast (Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, Earl Watson) that will propel them into the playoffs.

Hopefully by then, they'll realise that their logo and colors suck and they'll change them both. Then again, the Bobcats haven't done that yet so...

I haven't seen enough out of Durant to say he'll be one of the best in the league. Especially not in the next two years. He's going to be a good scorer, that's a fact, but he hasn't impressed me enough yet for me to say he'll be a top 10 player in the NBA. Also, I don't condone using Earl Watson and playoffs in the same sentence, and the other two guys we really know nothing about their NBA potential yet. I think you might be jumping the gun a bit. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm very confident that in 2011 the Thunder will still not have made the Playoffs. If I'm wrong look me up I'll buy you dinner.

I'm a huge Durant fan, and it's his ability to change a game on his own that gives me the belief that in 2 years they can be in the playoffs. With the likes of San Antonio, Dallas and Phoenix possibly dropping out, they need to be replaced and OKC could be in a prime position to do just that.

Hey guys, long time no see. I've been a busy bee. Anyway I just saw on ESPN.com and NBA.com the new name and logo for the team in Oklahoma City and in the nicest way I know how: I think it sucks! There, I said it.  Maybe that sounds harsh, but that's my feeling.

The move from Seattle sucked! The spit-in-your-face Sonics fans sucked! The new name sucks! The logo sucks! Everything about this thing is just bad.  Of course I'm a hardcore Celtics fan, but I'm also a traditionalist. I wouldn't want the Lakers to move from LA or change their name (even though I hate their ever-lovin guts!!!!), and I didn't want the Sonics to move from Seattle either. Remember fans, that's where DJ #3 (bless his soul) won his first championship and won the Finals MVP.

Who I really feel for are the fans! They're probably some of the most loyal, true and loudest fans the NBA has ever seen, next to our guys and Detroit's (at times). Even the Lakers fans didn't cheer for their team when they were winning as much as the Sonics fans did when their team struggled. They have a bad season last year, yet they packed the house, cheered their players and hoped for a Kevin Durant era! Now it's gone, and they're still saddened by it.

Even if the Sonics picked up Stephon Maubury and Kwame Brown, that still wouldn't add up to the pain and suffering of what has taken place.

I'm sorry, but unless this team gets lucky in the draft for a few years, and/or the owner is willing to spend some money (I MEAN SPEND SOME MONEY) this team is not going see glory for quite a while. (a la Memphis Grizzlies).

I'm also not crazy about the Nets moving to Brooklyn (it's going to happen folks). Yeah yeah yeah, New York will have two of every sport then which is their primary goal. The Yankees & Mets, Rangers & Islanders, and the Jets & Giants. Now they'll have the Knicks & LeBron...I mean the Nets.

Anyhow, I would like to know what you all think of the new name and logo. Maybe we're being hard on them for moving from Seattle (I mean stealing the team from Seattle). I don't know, maybe I'm hard on them because of that but that's my feeling.

Good Luck Oklahoma City and it's new fans and hope your team does find success or at least a better logo, but I'm still not happy about it.

So Celtics fans what do you think? Like it, hate it, or don't give a hoot? You decide.

I live in Seattle.  I use to love the Sonics.  Before the internet made it possible for me to follow the Celtics via online box scores and streaming sports radio, I pretty much was stuck with the home town team.  I probably went to 30 games in 96 when the Sonics made it to the finals.  Gary Payton is my favorite non-Celtic of all time (technically he kinda was a Celtic though, huh?... well... anyways... you get it)

With that said, I actually don't mind the new logo.  I think it'll grow on us.  In reality, most NBA logos look pretty cheesy.  We just classify the new ones as "WNBA-ish", because they aren't ingrained into our minds yet.  It's not that bad.  It's definitely growing on me.

I hear ya,its like when they first rename the Washington team to the Wizards.For a long time,i could not get use to it.In the beginning when the Wizards were mentioned in a conversation  the Globetrotters almost always came to mind.But after awhile it grew on me.

My issue is, I think it's a lazy logo.  I mean, I don't think it's possible to come up with something more lame and generic.

Here are various logos of teams calling themselves the "Thunder", as I posted in another thread.  I think all of these are more inspired than the current Thunder logo.  When you're being outdone by a logo from a women's volleyball league, maybe you should ask your marketing department to try harder.

 As for the move itself I don't care. I don't really think it's an issue anyway. Seattle kept it's right to the name and colors so I pretty much see this the same as the deal which had the Cleveland browns moving to baltimore. Remember much of the same was said then (what about the rich history, injustice to fans) but in the long run, the browns came back and now many people don't even remember the years the browns were out the league. I say the same thing happens here. Sooner or later the league will expand and Seattle will be back.
 I still hate the name & logo. I just don't understand why they didn't go with outlaws. To me that would've been 10 times better and I'm positive the merchandise would've sold better. I would envision a much better logo and a better mascot (I'm still waiting to see what lame mascot they're going to have)Colors being , black,white red & brown. Well if it were up to me that would've been the name. But hey eventually we'll get used to it. If it means anything I also thought the Bobcats is also equally as lame & sounds like a wnba team. Again it's so funny looking at the OKC colors. Reminds me of the Flint Tropics of Semi-pro. "don't you want to love me sexyyyy"lol

OK please take a look at the logos out there.  Give them as much scrutiny as the Thunder.

Teams with a worse logo:

Wizards (horrible)
Jazz (They really didn't have much to work with, but it still sucks)
Raptors (haha the worst)
Trailblazers (so lame)
Suns (a shooting star?  cmon that is horrible)
Magic (again i don't like stars and i don't know what stars have to do with magic)
Bucks (It's hard to make Bambi look menacing)
Grizz ((same with Yogi)
Rockets (weak)
Warriors (is that really a warrior?)
Mavericks (There is no way to make a horse look cool besides the SMU outline)

Though the Thunder is not a Celtic logo or a bulls logo it's simplicity will give it the ability to stay a long time.  I can't wait to see the blue jerseys.  I think those are going to be sweet.
