Will we make a trade?

I think if we do make a trade it won't happen until some time mid season, but unless BBD and/or Powe blossom and we can convince a team that scal is servicable, what can we really get?

Our future draft picks are just about worthless, as we'll been far into the playoffs for the next 3 years. The players left on our bench don't have a ton of trade value. Powe probably leads the way with trade value. I agree that there's a logjam at the PF position. Powe and Davis arent' built for the C position. OBryant is the backup to Perk, but bigs get hurt alot. We could trade Scal and some picks to Houston for Steven Francis. He doesn't really fit into Adleman's plans or even fitting into his rotation. Houston needs some semi bigs to come behind Scola for offense. It would spread the floor to have Scal, Barry, and Novak on the court together. Francis could then become a backup PG/SG, followed along by House and/or Tony Allen. Then sign a cheap SF maybe DARIUS MILES? This trade is highly doubtful, but maybe would work for both teams...
Boston trades away BBD, Scal, and Pruitt (maybe some trade picks or something)
New York trades away Nate Robinson and David Lee.

So New York would get a decent 3point shooter to help in D'Antoni's offense, along with a backup PG, and a midsize PF/C that can knock down and open 15 footer, good inside game, and occasionally hit a 3 if practiced.
Boston would get the solid backup PG with 3 point range and dunking ability, and can play D as he blocked a shot on YAO MING, and then we get DLee who is more able to play C if needed than BBD. Our team would look great and only lack one or 2 more pieces for our repeat. A backup SF for injury possibilities, as well as vet experience. That's where keeping Tony Allen and House would come into play, then signing Darius Miles and another piece. House and TAllen could split the MLE, Miles takes the minimum, and the biannual could be saved for the 15th player(someone cut later on by their own team, like #8Walker-He can play PF and hit more 3's than Scal)

I brought this up in the chat.

1. Boston signs Josh Childress to the MLE

2. Boston then sends Brian Scalabrine, a signed Tony Allen, and JR Giddens to the Atlanta Hawks for Speedy Claxton AND an agreement not to match the offer.   

For the Hawks ... Allen is a cheaper replacement for Childress.  Giddens is basically a free late first round pick for them AND they get out of Claxton's bad contract. 

For the Celtics ... The replace Posey with a younger player who is very efficient offensively.  They have to pay an incremental $2+MM for Claxton (I view Scalabrine as a sunk cost and basically immovable except for a bigger trade where there are other attractive components involved), but the guy is likely to be more productive than Scalabrine.
