Haha.  It's an inside joke referencing a thread from an earlier time.  Sadly, I think myself and LarBrd33 are probably the only ones who get it.

Sadly, the Commissioner rejected my previous trade proposal, as he indicated that we couldn't trade for both Jeff Green and Yi Jianlian (just too much young potential, I guess).  So, the updated version:

Quote
Boston trades: Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, James Posey, Eddie House, Scot Pollard
Boston receives: Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes (S&T), Sebastian Telfair (S&T), Jeff Green, Wally Sczerbiak, Delonte West (S&T), Gerald Green,  Trent Plaistead

Cleveland trades: Wally Sczerbiak, Delonte West
Cleveland receives: Ray Allen, Eddie House (S&T)

Minnesota trades: Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair
Minnesota receives: Kevin Garnett

Oklahoma City trades: Jeff Green, Trent Plaistead
Oklahoma City receives:  BBD, James Posey (S&T)

Dallas trades:  Gerald Green
Dallas receives:  Scot Pollard (S&T)

==================================

C: Perk / O'Bryant / Plaistead
PF: Big Al / Gomes / Powe
SF: Pierce / G. Green / B. Walker
SG: J. Green / Wally / Giddens
PG: Rondo / Delonte / Telfair / Pruitt

There.  I feel better about having G-money on this roster.  Mad hoppage!

well in order to be honest
those PG and C position can fit pretty good in this years championship team  ;)
DW is my boy!!!!

And

GG NOW we have a hall of famer in this lineup NOW we are talking.!!!
Once a CrotorNat always a CROTORNAT  2 times CB draft Champion 2009-2012

Nice to be back!

We need to wait a couple of months to pull this one off (due to restrictions on players being re-traded) but I think the parameters are there for this one to work out:

Boston trades: Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, James Posey, Eddie House, Scot Pollard
Boston receives: Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes (S&T), Sebastian Telfair (S&T), Jeff Green, Wally Sczerbiak, Delonte West (S&T), Yi Jianlian,  Trent Plaistead

Cleveland trades: Wally Sczerbiak, Delonte West
Cleveland receives: Ray Allen

Minnesota trades: Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair
Minnesota receives: Kevin Garnett

Seattle trades: Jeff Green, Trent Plaistead
Seattle receives:  BBD, James Posey (S&T)

New Jersey trades:  Yi Jianlian
New Jersey receives:  Eddie House (S&T), Scot Pollard (S&T)

==================================

Why for Boston: We get a group of young players to supplement the current potential on our roster, and get a true post player in Big Al.  KG is at his peak trade value, coming off a championship; this gives us the opportunity to cash him in for some legitimate first-tier young talent. We trade Ray Allen for an expiring contract, which allows us to reload at the trade deadline.

This trade opens our window of opportunity by several years, setting us up long into the future.  It also allows us to play small ball on a full-time basis, by shifting Big Al over to center and playing Gomes at PF.

C: Perk / O'Bryant / Plaistead
PF: Big Al / Jianlian / Powe
SF: Pierce / Gomes / B. Walker
SG: J. Green / Wally / Giddens
PG: Rondo / Delonte / Telfair / Pruitt

You can't go wrong with that roster.  The only downside is that we have to cut one player to get down to the maximum roster size of 15.

(Yes, folks, the above was tongue-in-cheek.)

um... your basically telling the wolves the reverse the garnett trade of '07, except many years later when kg isn't as talented, and al is even better than he was before... and minnie would do this trade why??

The reason Minni does it is because they have a young core and need some vet leadership.  What better vet leader for that young squad that Kevin Garnett?  It's a pretty logical move from their standpoint.   They would be bringing in an excellent mentor to lead that young team until one of the young guys like Kevin Love takes over.

if they trade al and gomes away, what "young core" will they have? i'm not convinced love will be all-star caliber.

Become Legendary.

Zerophase... come on.  They'll have an excellent young core.  Randy Foye, McCants, Corey Brewer, Craig Smith, Rodney Carney... pretty much everyone on that team is under 25.  But Al Jefferson duplicates what Kevin Love does.  It's high time they cashed in some of that youth to bring in a vet to lead them and teach them.  Kevin Garnett is the perfect vet leader for that team.   And he'll be an outstanding mentor for Kevin Love.   Plus, you never pass up a chance to bring in a superstar.  Minny would be smart to make this move.

Also, I implore you to think of the marketing opportunities from Minnesota's standpoint.  Not only will the be bringing in a future hall of famer, but they'll be able to have some outstanding commercials.  Think of McHale, Garnett and Love sitting in a hot tub.  "The Three Kevins".  The Minnesota folks will eat it up.  The Timberwolves are at a point in their rebuilding effort that they have acquired lots of trade chips to make one big move.  Trading for Kevin Garnett just makes sense.  They are at the point where they have to just bite that bullet and say, "you know what... it's time to sacrifice potential for talent.  The future is NOW".  Meanwhile, it will extend Boston's window of opportunity for the next several years.  This trade rumor just makes way too much sense for each team for it to not happen.

Not a bad trade idea at all. But I'd ask Minny for a draft pick. Surely  not a deal-breaker, but they throw in their 2009 draft pick (I wouldn't ask for our own, with this deal we'd be contenders for the next decade and the value of our picks is low) and I'm an enthusiastic supporter.

True, Minnesota should be sending us one, if not two, #1s to even things out.  They're the one getting the superstar, after all.

Oh by the way you forgot to mention that the very next day Paul Pierce demands to be traded. Get Real.

Yeah u are probably right about that. But if he asked for a trade we could just trade him for a big contract, and more young talent, and some picks.

Worst trade possibility ever...Yeah, lets trade back the big 3 for most of the players we got rid of b/c they weren't producing for us, and YES, Paul Pierce would demand a trade THAT day.
Can't stop, Rondo!
