The trade is a no-brainer, no other way to get younger and compete in the future, plus after a championship win, we have some major chips to deal. It might also be a good idea when we get Gerald back to trade him for T-Mac, since they are the same player, then as soon as the restriction is over... trade T-Mac back for Gerald since they are the same player but Gerald is younger.
Only problem I see is who is going to helm this squad of future hall of famers? Doc may have championship pedigree, but does he have the ability to coach a young team and get the most out of his players, and in the process separate the real up-an-comers from the busts, at the very least so they could later be traded for star veterans? I'm not so sure, my suggestion, get rid of Doc, we need someone that has a lot of experience coaching young players, maybe even college players. Best guy I see for the job, Rick Pitino, if we can snag him away from the college scene, I think he's a guy whose coaching style, and possibly general managing style, could really work in the NBA.
