I didnt think the DVD came out until Tuesday but last night i went into Blockbuster and as i was walking in i saw this green Celtics display and even though im sure it was in my head, the outline of it was glowing in Celtics green and i got very excited to say the least lol.

So i got the DVD and have watched it twice so far, it is a 10/10 and even though im biased i think it was well done. The open is great and gives you chills with a few Celtics legends talking about the Celtics legacy and then it has the new big 3 do the same, then it moves onto highlights of the regular and postseason. In the special features it has individual features about KG/PP/RA and my personal favorite extra...it has the entire 4th quarter of game 7 against the Cavs and the entire 4th quarter of game 6 in Detroit. It also has the "I Am A Celtic" thing from Espn, KG and Russells interview, Robert Parish on the new big 3, an inside them ind of KG feature, and lastly Danny Ainge: Building A Champion.

While it doesnt have whole playoff games(which i think a dvd set with that will come out in a few months), I cant see any Celtics fan having anything negative to say about it. I wasnt sure if i should put this in Celts Talk or Multimedia forum so mods move it wherever it should be.

Awesome.  Thanks for the review.

I think I'm going to wait awhile and hope that a special edition comes out with some of the full-length games on there.  That's awesome that they put the fourth quarter against Cleveland on there, though.  I could watch that over and over again.

For the last few years in October/November or so they have released a dvd package with complete games for the whole playoffs i believe.

http://www.amazon.com/Miami-Heat-NBA-2005-2006-Champions/dp/B000HLDF9A/ref=pd_sbs_d_1

http://www.amazon.com/San-Antonio-Spurs-2006-2007-Champions/dp/B000UPGQR6/ref=pd_sbs_d_2

Those are $75 now down from $100 so id expect the Celts one to be $100 whenever it does come out but those 2 have all the games with a bit of a postgame, however those dont show the team entrances which i hope the Celtics one does. I will be buying that too whenever it does come out

I was also under the impression that the release date was the 15th, but I snagged at Target on Saturday for $19.99.

I also give it a perfect score for all the same reasons.  A lot of it is stuff we've seen before, but it's definitely well compiled.  There's also some PRICELESS footage of Tony Allen behind the closing credits.  I won't spoil it, but I'm sure Big_Matt knows what I'm saying.

Yeah i was just talking to Celticsballa32 on AIM and right before i saw this post i told him a funny scene with TA who is true to form and does exactly what youd ecpect him to do.

He is my favorite player in the world outside of PP but even i laughed at what happened because its so TA lol.

Is this dvd in widescreen?

I'm going to Borders tomorrow, where House and Posey will be, to buy the DVD and try to get them to sign it.

The regular part is, the 4th quarters of the games are fullscreen though.

Great. Thanks for the review. I still have my "1984 Pride and Passion" video (which I love) and wasn't sure whether a championship dvd in the year 2008 would be any good or not. It's been so long since I've watched one. Glad to know this one is good. I'm now going to pick it up on my way home...

Nice, I can't wait to pick this up tomorrow. I am also going to the Posey/House signing at Borders on School St, only problem, I have absolutely no idea where it is. Could Bankshot or possibly anybody else tell me what stop and where to go after the stop I get off at? Coming from the braintree redline? Any help would be huge guys, I don't want to get lost tomorrow haha

That is lame. Put the widescreen on there, they just take the high def footage, and then cut it up. There's no reason to ever do it, and even though I don't have the dvd, that has to worth at least a .5 out of 10 off the review.

My brother in law made me a DVD since he knew I was at the championship game and wasn't sure if I tivo'd the game, it has all of game 6, the pre, half, and post game shows, as well as the celebrationon the court and ESPN's NBA Tonight wrap up show. It's all chaptered, with no commercials, has a nice menu with the music from the Celtics player introductions where KG screams, and it's all in high def. Not bad at all.

I'll still get the championship DVD though.
