I always thought Pruitt was kinda like Delonte, but I havent seen it and I dont think we will. Delonte is fierce and agressive, I dont see Pruitt playing like that.

Scal, Pruitt and BBD for a resigned Delonte West and a draft pick?

I'd love to see DW as our backup 1/2, playing 20+ minutes a night. It's hard to see Cleveland letting him go though.

but as mentioned above, I'm really curious to see the length of his next contract.

Don't you have to graduate to be a real alumnus?

Delonte couldn't get his diploma if he had to go to the right side of the stage at Commencement.  BTW, it was nice of him to clang that WIDE OPEN, game tying three with 64 seconds left in Game 7.  I was about 20 yards from him, and his chokitude was a thing of beauty to me.

This is a bad idea. D. West is our ace in the hole over there in Cleveland. The more mediocre "hustle" guys we can surround Lebron with the better. It will keep real talent off that team..

Pruitt is kinda like a poor man's version of Delonte West, and that my friend is a sad state of affairs... he's Dwest without the hussle, just as you said (and without the awesome ears, portwine stain or crazy sense of humour)

^^^ Seems that he can dribble with both hands and is more athletic though.

That's why I don't think Danny will even go after Delonte.  I think Pruitt is similar with better ballhandling skills and as you say, more athletic.  Probably will be a better shooter too.

As much as I like Delonte, he was one of the reasons I was confident the C's would win.  I couldn't see him and Wally being consistent enough over a 7 game series to beat the C's.  Consistency is what prevents West from ever being more than a bench player on a good team.  The fact that he was starting for Cleveland showed that they didn't have enough overall talent to beat the C's.

They'd have to offer the whole MLE for 5 years for the Cavs to consider not matching it.  And even then, they still might match.

Plus, do you really want to commit that much to someone his size?  As long as Rondo is here, the most West is going to see at the 1 is 15 mpg.  Sure, he can slide to the 2, but he's undersized there.  More importantly, we just drafted Giddens and Walker, do we really need more depth at the 2?

I like Delonte.  I just don't think we can get enough production for his price.  To me, all he does is provide what House and either Giddens  or Allen combined could provide for double the price.
