I think Chalmers will be a nice player in the NBA...but I think Pruitt will be a better player, and there wasn't room for both of them.
I'm very impressed with Chalmers and was very impressed with him at Kansas. He's easily capable of having a Derek Fisher like career next to Wade. Himself and Dwyane complement each other very nicely. Chalmers should start next season. He's the best point guard they have. Best ballhandler, best passer, best shooter, best floor general, best defender, best vision of their point guards (nice to have Banks around when you need him ;)).

I think Chalmers is going to be better player than Pruitt in the pros. Giddens like you said in the rest of your post, he's the wildcard, Giddens and Pruitt together possibly could work out as more than Chalmers by himself. It was fair enough to pick Giddens.

I like the comparison to Fisher for Chalmers.  I think that is very accurate.  Both are tough, big PG's who aren't great passers, but are still good floor leaders, and can knock down big shots.  I think Chalmers will probably have a similar career.

I think Chalmers and Pruitt have very similar cielings.  Neither will be a star, but they both should be very solid players.  I give Pruitt a little edge because I think he is quicker, and has a better shot, although Chalmers strength is also a big asset that Pruitt doesn't have.

Either way, it is close...but it comes down to the fact that Chalmers was not a big enough upgrade on Pruitt to give up on him (there is no way they would have kept both of them), and also to pass on Giddens, who could potentially be an upgrade over Allen.

I know its only summer league but these guys are playing good basketball. Until I see Giddens and Walker play, I will continue to trust Danny.

One thing to do well against guys who may or may not be in the LEAGUE.  Wait til August when they face real big league pitching.

I think the C's should have gone to Summer Camp this year. With the signing of O'Bryant we could put a lineup on Pruitt, Giddens, Walker(if he can go but I wouldnt risk it), BBD, O'Bryant and maybe give Powe one last go. Powe and BBD could really drive up their stock by dominating the Summer League. We could have found some guys to play on the bench. Theres always someone out there looking for a chance at the league.

I guess saving some money is more important than our young talent. Nothing Danny Ainge can do I guess. The Redsox have a very good farm system and its going to keep them a top team for a while. The C's need to develop thier talent the best they can to stay competitive for years to come.

Livi in NM and have watched Giddens play for a couple years. You all will LOVE his game. Coming into his own mentally and has always had the tools physically. Celtic fans will be pleasantly surprised! JUST WAIT!!!

BTW, if any of this year's picks from 25-60 can have as good a career as former 55th pick Bark Blount (51st pick in the 1997 CBA draft!), and get paid anywhere near Blount's career salary ($43m after this contract ends), they would be very lucky.
