Perhaps he will have the cognative ability to figure out NBA defensive rotations?

You've got to be kidding me.  That kid has the exact same cocky-head-tilt-but-vacant-look-in-his-eyes that Gerald has.  Wow.

Man, He's gonna be a better player? Like on the And 1 tour? You gotta be able to at least make half an effort to rotate on defense!

As opposed to which one Gerald's Celtic teammates during his Celtic career?
You sorta have to have a coaching staff who gives a rat's rear end about defense.  Gerald didn't have that his first 2 pro years.  Gerald wasn't nearly the embarassment that Rivers and his staff was during Gerald's stay in Boston.

if he has GG's ability (people forget, GG could shot the lights out, he just stopped doing it and trying to dunk every play) and raw potential, and combines that with geralds glaring flaw, basektball IQ then sign him in a heartbeat.

You don't need other good defensive players to be a good defensive player.  You need other ones to have a good defensive team.  The teams he's played on is no excuse for the pathetic defense the kid has played throughout his short career.  He plays horrible one-on-one defense.  He plays horrible help defense.

Gerald's parents blame all of his NBA problems on the Celtics not giving him a chance.  Don't know what their excuse i for the past year in Minny, or what next years excuse will be in Dallas.  Why on earth would Danny want to deal with them with his brother?

"The Celtics will never win a Championship with Rivers as their coach"  was the quote I believe.  You can coach and teach players what to do all day long, but you can't physically make them do it.  Blaming Gerald's inadequacies on D on the C's coaching staff is laughable, but haven't we been through all this?  There should be a moratorium on Doc hating at least until training camp opens and the pursuit of #18 begins.  Any criticism now rings very hollow.

And this is why we shipped out most of the players, retained the coach and won the NBA championship. I am sure this was all caused by the fact that the coaching staff didn't give a rat's ass about defense, while most of our players were, in fact, superior defenders.

We still have Gerald apologists on Celticsblog?

Too bad we can't get a list of a poster's posts from 6 months ago. It would be fun digging up the brain-dead rants of the "we can't win with Doc" crowd.
