Post in this thread your predictions of who the Celtics will sign. Not who you want them to sign. Almost everyone would love to see both Posey and Maggette on the C's (not going to happen). I'll go first...

Chris Anderson wiil be the big man signed.

James Jones will be the wing signed (for considerably less thn Posey gets from his new team. Maggette will end up with an offer greater than the MLE from another team).

Eddie House will be the point guard signed. House won't get any decent multi year ofers from other teams, so he will return to the C's later in the Summer.

I agree with you on the Chris Anderson and Eddie House part of it. But I still don't know what will happen with the wing spot. It will end up being Posey or Maggette IMO. That leaves us with a good bench with Anderson, Powe, Posey/Maggette, House, Davis, Pruitt, and Walker/Allen/Giddens/Scal

We sign David Harrison to a contract which the Pacers end up matching. Then we settle for Anderson.

We lose out on both Posey and Magette and end up signing Matt Barnes

We sign House and Keyon Dooling

We get Harrison and Andersen.

I'm at a loss for the swingman.  If Maggette swiftly decides on someplace other than here, than we quickly secure posey.  If he takes his time then we miss out on both and end up with Barnes, Jones or Pietrus (just depends)

House comes back and we sign another PG or combo guard.  I can't say who. J-Will, Lue, possibly, Roger Mason..one of them.

Anderson seems like a done deal.

A lot hinges on the swingman.  If Posey will sign for four in two years or three and a half over three, I think we'll do it, but I don't see much more than that.

I don't think we'll offer more than a two year deal.  In two years (when Scal and Ray come off the books) we're in nice shape for DWade, Amare, or King James (in order of likelihood of signing with us.

If we ahve to pay for the big and the swing, then we'll settle for Cassell.

Center: Andersen comes aboard with P.J. resigning at the same time frame again for the playoff run!

/ I'll state here, I'm really worried for the health of Perk reinjuring that sholder yet again!!! <crosses fingers>

Forward: Mags signs for full 2 year MLE...

/Yes, we sign Mags for a 2 year MLE and forgo unfortunately the services of Posey due to his agents demands, unless he first signs for the offer on the table for 3 years...)

Gaurd: I'll call for Jason Williams to be signed...

If we can get Anderson, we do it I think. Elson and Butler have been mentioned but I dont think so for some reason. Another big that is under the radar is Primo Brezec, not great but serviceable.

I think Posey is gone for the 'final contract'. I dont think Maggette takes the pay cut and 6th man role, hope I'm wrong. I take Barnes in a heartbeat. Also consider Walter Hermann/Bostjan Nachbar.

Lots of PG choices, I like Anthony Johnson more than Lue. Pargo is my first choice, but he doent leave N.O. IMO. I agree with Dark Lord that J Will is also an outside chance as is Keyon Dooling.

Lastly, I wonder at a Ricky Davis sighting? I know a lot of you will say no way, but I think it's possible. 8)

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Even with Ray and Scal off the books, due mainly to KG and Pierce's contracts we would have no where near the cap room to sign an elite player. This seems to be a common misperception around here.

I'm sure Cleveland would love the news that not only are they losing Lebron, but they owe Ray Allen 100 million until he's 40.

Isn't Childress a Restricted FA? If so, Atlanta matches that offer without blinking. Please no Patterson.

Nope. They don't because ownership can't decide who will file the paper stating they will match, missing the deadline.

Fine..a real prediction?

We sign

Sam Cassell (vet minimum)
one of Matt Barnes or Mikey P from France (4 million per)
Randolph Morris (1.2 million)
Kareem Rush with the LLE

Leaving us

Rondo/Casell/Pruitt/House
Allen/Rush/Giddens/House
Pierce/Mikey P/Walker
Garnett/Powe/Davis
Perkins/Randolph/Davis

Eddie House signed to a non-bird rights contract HOLLLA

Ratonal:

I think Cassell is coming back just as sure as that coldsore on the right side of your mouth. I wish it weren't true, but it is.

Kareem Rush is a journeyman, but if he was just following $, he would've been over seas last season. Hes another one of those players that never really panned out, but unlike some Gerald Greens we know, he's continued to work hard and follow his dream. He's got the size (6'7) and the range to be a huge assett to us off the bench.

We miss out on Posey/Maggette because we can't offer a starting job to maggette and won't offer a full boat to BGJ. Sad.

Randolph Morris gives us the big body we need at the price we can afford. Its like we got him at walmart.

We take whichever of Pietrus/Barnes will accept the money we're offering. We offer Pietrus first.

Eddie house is rumors to be playing for all 29 other teams in the NBA, as well as 2 mlb teams and a the CFL Ottawa Roughriders, bu he resigns with us for a non-bird level contract, not eating away at our MLE
