Quote
Larry Harmon, who turned the character Bozo the Clown into a show business staple that delighted children for more than a half-century, died Thursday of congestive heart failure. He was 83.

R.I.P., Bozo.  You were an icon.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Are we sure this isn't viral marketing for "The Dark Knight"?

... ok... that's weak.  Sorry.  I remember bozo a little.  [dang] good clown. Right up there with Ronald McDonald.  At least he lived a long time.    I thought there had/has been multiple bozo the clowns though.

I actually won on Bozo.  If you remember the show at all, he would draw a post card from a bin and whatever the kid on the show would win so would the kid whose post card he drew.  He drew my postcard...  the kid who was playing for me sucked though... I got bubblegum soda and thats about it.  RIP Bozo.

Classic, Dark Lord, classic.  From another Homey skit:
Kid: "but Homey what's dignity?"
Homey: "Here let me show you. [puts ice cream cone on kids head, and smashes it with his sock] See how you feel right now? Well dignity is the opposite of that."

But if the measure of a man is what he left behind, then Bozo did pretty good for himself.  Without Bozo we probably wouldn't have Krusty

You are correct - there were multiple Bozos.  One of them in fact was Frank Avruch who went on to multiple on screen TV hosting jobs including a long-running movie show on channel 5 years ago.  His son went to high school with me back in the 70's -- imagine being Bozo's son in high school.

Anyway, the OPs Bozo must have been the original, I suppose.  Here's to one heckova fine clown.

Doink with Dink, Pink, and Wink (come on now, don't sleep on me wrestling fans)

I got you dude

Remember when Doink first came in as a heel? Before all the ridiculous stuff with the midgets, he would come out to scary music and terrorize children. It was awesome.

Around :40-1:30   "Awww look at the little kid, he's crying. This is great".

That's the Titan Tron video. When I was a young wrestling fan, this guy legit creeped me out

If you haven't read it, R.D. Reyonold's Wrestlecrap book (the first one, not the book of lists) is a great look at all the bad gimmicks in pro wrestling - he gives a lot of props to Doink though, before he jumped the shark so to speak, an evil clown - brilliant
