What's up everybody,
I doubt anyone reads these things, since I've been lurking for about two years and I seem to dodge them all.
A little on my C's history:
A young boy living in kentucky is raised from birth to be a UK basketball fan. I think my first words were "Rick Pitino", and I may have taken Tayshaun Prince to my senior prom, if that sort of thing were allowed in my state.
I'd always had a huge respect for the history of the Green, I was familiar with everybody from Russell to Bird and everybody in between. I knew about the tragedies of Len and Reggie. But when Pitino left for the land of the big dig, I followed and became a die-hard. Probably because he seemed to take half of his UK players with him when picking his first draft.
Paul and Antoine had some good times, and I still remember almost getting fired at K-Mart for abandoning my electronics department because the 2002 comeback game was happening. Well we all know how the Pitino era ended. Chris Herren walked through that door, and I was lucky enough to get his autograph, which I'm sure will be worth millions one day.
But by then the C's were MY team. No one could call me a fairweather fan, or bandwagoner, because I was sticking by them through the rough years. And I was beyond devastated when the 5th pick rolled around in the Oden draft. But all in the past year, I've seen resurgence, and happiness, and KG commercials, and 17! It's been a blast, and I probably should have joined Celticsblog long ago so I could share in the gamethreads.
But anyhow, I finally got around to it. So there you go. Thanks, and I'll be around.
Bray
