How about the:

Oklahoma City There's Really Nothing Interesting Or Well Known About This Area Yet We Need To Be Extremely Politically Correct And Not Upset Native Americans Or Torando Victims Or Possible Oil Company Sponsors Or The Local State Univerisities So We'll Go With Flatlands Oh No We Can't Use That Because The Land Might Think We're Saying Something Bad About It's Breast Size So How's Poies.

It might be hard to fit on a uniform but it sure does encompass what this franchise will probably be all about. They already ****ed off the entire state of Washington so a name that explains how thoughtful they are being to people might work.

1.  If you don't know of anything interesting in OKC you are an idiot.
2.  You shouldn't try to be funny at the expense of Native Americans or Tornado Victims.  It is completely disgusting and you are showing your stupidity that you can't make a real joke.  People die every year from tornadoes and you think it something to make a joke about?  Tasteless.
I made a simple joke, dude. Idiot and stupid are rather strong words to use because you don't like the joke.

If you are from Oklahoma.. I apologize.
If you are Native American... I apologize.
If you have had someone close to you die in a tornado... I apologize.

If none of the above ... go  ....nevermind! I'll take the high road.

Geneva College Golden Tornadoes
King College Tornadoes
Iowa State Cyclones
Centenary College Cyclones
Mills College Cyclones

But lets look at Oklahoma for the real answers.......ah here we go:

Edmond High School Cyclones
Cassady High School Cyclones
Clinton High School Red Tornadoes
Plainview High School Indians
In fact, there's 165 schools in Oklahoma who use a term to describe Native Americans as there school logo, including nine schools who use the name Savages.

Based on the above, I am pretty sure the fine folks in Oklahoma will be able to roll with Nick's humor.......or even have a few funny stereotypical things to say about possible team names for the Boston area.
Just think if Boston ever gets another pro sports team they could be called the Boston TeaBaggers.

Hope that doesn't offend Bostonians who have a thing for scrotum.

Nickagenta - That officially wins the funniest post in the history of Celticsblog... Unbelievable. I almost spit my drink all over my computer. TP from me also!

How about the Oklahoma Flying Trailer Homes?!

I'm pretty sure they won't be able to roll with Nick's humor.  Maybe they could name the team something like breast cancer, or maybe New Orleans would rename their team the hurricanes.  Maybe the knicks would change their name to taliban pilots. Gosh that would be funny.

wow, bad bowl of corn flakes I guess.

I will agree that you see the world through a certain pair of glasses and a few of us see it through another.  Nothing here has diminished anyone's "pain and suffering", you only see it that way.  As for Oklahoma, I personally know a few of the highest ranking first responders in the state of Oklahoma (was with them last week in fact) and they happen to have a wonderful sense of humor, you have to when you face tragedy on a day-to-day basis.

Having different senses of humor does not make a person bad, in fact I am confident that my level of giving and caring is equal to yours.  Moving forth, I'll continue to smile and I'll continue to respect the fact that what makes us smile are not exactly the same.

Oklahoma 66ers.

Oklahoma Drillers.

Oklahoma Oilers.

Oklahoma Soonics.

Maybe they can hire Barry Switzer as GM and Kelvin Sampson as HC.

Maybe they'll play 6 home games in Wichita once that downtown arena gets built.

Trust me I'm a funny guy.  I can appreciate humor.  I just don't understand how something that conjures the thought of death is funny.  Oh well I'm off my soap box now.

Not to get too off topic, but does anyone think that they will realign the divisions?

I'm just feeling bad that my offering of "Oklahoma Flying Mobile Homes" didn't bring the wrath of Blake...

Apparently humor isn't allowed here so I guess I just have to be dead serious.

Oooops, Freudian slip with the dead serious thing, sorry. I promise it won't happen again. Or if it does it's over my dead body. Arrrghhh, sorry, did it again. Really didn't mean it.

Is Oklahoma City Bison okay? Or is the politically correct name Buffalo. Afterall, I don't want to upset an endangered spieces.

Is Oklahoma City Bandits okay? Afterall the term bandit was usually referencing a Mexican criminal or bandito. That wouldn't anger Mexican Americans will it? I especially wouldn't want to anger any real Mexicans living illegally here in the US considering they probably are the definition of a bandito.

I now think Stampede probably wouldn't work either. After all a Stampede is a group of angered or frightened cattle running as one unit. I wouldn't want to anger one particular cow or bull by insinuating that they are scared or frightened.

How about the Oklahoma City Mr. Monks? We can call them the OCD's. Yeah, the mental illness political police would have a field day with that, huh?

How about Oklahoma Donkeys. We can call them the Okie Dokies for short. Come on, that's a little funny and it didn't offend anyone except some high strung, tight ass, errr, donkey, right. Maybe not.

I guess there's more to naming a team than meets the eye.

Maybe they should just stick with naming the team after a color instead

The Oklahoma City Reds? .....No?
The Oklahoma City Blacks? .....No, again?
The Oklahoma City Browns? .....Why do you keep saying no?
The Oklahoma City Yellows? .....Not bad, but, no, huh?
How about if I kinda add a letter to the end of a color to change it just a little like,
The Oklahoma City Pinkos? .....That's not gonna work.
The Oklahoma City Whiteys? .....Okay calm down, calm down.

I guess colors are out of the question, too.

Well I guess I give up. It seems I just am not creative enough to come up with a name that isn't going to make people angry so I'll just leave it to those that are better at these things than I am.

Seems to me this might have been easier to just to have kept calling them the Seattle SuperSonics. The illiteration was musical and worked real well.

Just trying to lighten it up a bit. I guess humor is indeed not allowed... I sure wouldn't want to incur the WRATH of the mods. What would I possibly do with all my extra time.

I thought the Flying Mobile Homes was quite creative, but I guess I was wrong. My apologies to the humor impaired. I'll move on too.
